  1. Not if he is on the same page of thinking as Pele! I'm not convinced by himas a coach tbh, obviously he would be an immense presence, but so would Pele or Godzilla. Zico and Poyet or someone with experience in the English game would make more sense. Likewise if we do end up plumping for Poyet he will need an experienced and talented head to join him in the coaching set up alongside Hughton. I wouldn't mind Godzilla as our manager.
  2. True although I hope there is a new guy in charge cos I'm sick of the speculation already.
  3. This is exactly what I've been thinking. Glad you've been honest about it.
  4. Oh, come on, this should be common knowledge by now. That's from the interview in that club magazine, hardly a press smear. Two lines, two fraudulent claims to make people buy season tickets. The way it's worded still suggests that the players are being brought to Keegan and he's just giving his blessing to it rather than it being someone he's picked himself. After all who is deeming someone 'the right player' if it's not Keegan?
  5. They probably thought they were finally going to see something worth spending their hard earned cash on. Another bottom half finish is ok as long as we don't lose Dennis. Give over. No-one would care if Dennis Wise went.
  6. Have you been living in a cave all week, nay all year? Actually no, surprisingly enough.
  7. That and the lies they've told to con thousands of people out of thousands of pounds. If you're talking about season tickets, then I thought they were for supporting Newcastle Utd, not Kevin Keegan. I don't remember seeing any promises about the manager in the adverts or letters. If anyone signed up for three years thinking Keegan would definitely be manager throughout that time, they obviously haven't been watching football for very long. I don't think Ashley is blameless at all, but he's not the devil either. No, sorry, season tickets were sold under false pretences. People have paid to watch a team put together by Kevin Keegan, not one put together by the former manager of Swindon Town. If they were so confident of the same amount of people buying tickets regardless, why didn't they just tell the truth: "Dennis Wise will be choosing the players and we won't be spending any money. Now, that'll be £1500 please"? They didn't say Keegan was building the team though as far as I recall. The media tried to tell us it was Wise buying behind Keegan's back but everyone laughed it off as cockney bullshit. Er... what? You said they made a pretense of the team being put together by Keegan. The media told us a completely different story but no-one chose to believe it. Why would I be talking about the media? I'm talking about Newcastle United. Where was it stated by the club that all transfers were Keegan's choices? I personally was always under the understanding that Wise and co chose the players and KK just gave it his blessing which is what Keegan himself said. So if you're gonna blame people for this false pretense then Keegan is just as guilty as anyone.

  10. Am I the only one who finds this all far too overly dramatic? You would think people were protesting for workers rights or something. All it is, is one man who quit because he wasn't getting his way. If you want to boycott stuff just do it, but do we really need to hear it as some kind of rallying cry?
  11. Oh no he couldn't Why not ? He's close with Galatasarey and Turkish players usually listen to him as a father. If he tells Arda he wants him and tells Gala to sell him I think he can get Arda for a good price. Just googled this pic, young Terim lol http://www.itusozluk.com/img.php/7ded972730b37731e6d60aabda5c89a118777/fatih+terim He'd only get him if Dennis Wise wanted him.
  12. Poyet doesn't deserve a chance so that'd be problem solved
  13. I'll chip in for a hitman...or failing that I'll chip in for Bret 'The Hitman' Hart to lock Ashley in a sharpshooter until he cries.
  14. Any reasons given ? Ashley probably had a look on here and realised he would be too popular so is going to appoint someone shit to piss the fans off more.
  15. This Arsenal lark is a red herring. They has already won the PL in 91 and the FA Cup in 95 prior to Wengers appointment in 96. "Arsene replaced Bruce Rioch at Highbury in 1996 but prior to officially joining the Gunners from the J-League, Arsenal had, under the Frenchman's advice, signed two French players. They were Remi Garde from Strasbourg and Patrick Vieira from AC Milan. More Frenchmen soon joined the Gunners including Emmanuel Petit (Monaco) and Nicolas Anelka (Paris St Germain). Dutch winger Marc Overmars also joined the club from Ajax Amsterdam." http://www.4thegame.com/club/arsenal-fc/manager-profile/44/arsenewenger.html The PL didn't exist in '91. And Everton might like to know about Arsenal stealing their FA Cup win in 95.
  16. systems, systems, systems. At the end of the day, whether or not a club wants to have a DOF [ie a glorified head scout and a job that someone like Arthur Cox could have done perfectly well] or not, a manager has the right, [and in any club at all that wishes to be a professionally organised club], to choose the people he wants to work with and do his scouting for him. Ooh Leazes, it's good to be back on the same side, it's almost like having Souness back. In some ways I miss the last few months of the Souness era. It's the only time that all the fans and local media were united .
  17. is it really so unbelievable? Yes
  18. or a Chilean in Manuel Pellegrini who has worked miracles at Villareal......failing that Hiddink..........but realistically....... Mentioned him earlier. Would be as good a choice as any given our Spanish core of players.
  19. Of course he had a choice and he didn't choose Keegan.
  20. Can't see Shearer coming in and being a yes man. He'll want everything his own way in my opinion. Plus he'd be mad to come here having seen how another club legend was treated. It'll be someone from the Spanish league who won't give a s*** about transfers.
  21. Deschamps, Bilic, or Pellegrini of Villarreal. I'll die inside if Poyet is appointed.
  22. Rip Hull to shreds in the next game.
  23. That's pretty much my thoughts.
  24. It's noble but I don't think it will actually work.
