Not gonna lie I'm forever traumatised by Titus Bramble, so when I hear we're linked to a defender 'who makes mistakes' I die inside a little. All our current defenders are ones that 'make mistakes'. They're just less blindingly obvious than Titus or Nik the Greek before him. Yes. As long as his mistakes are not air kicks or running into his fellow centre half taking them both out to allow the opposition striker to score then I can live with that.

Not sure about this. Sounds like he'll be expected to play a lot and I would have hoped for someone proven.

I never saw a lack of effort or commitment from Sissoko. He is an inconsistent player by nature and unfortunately when you are the focal point of a team you get it the worst when you don't deliver. I agree that Wijnaldum was a disgrace. Bad attitude, lack of effort and refusal to take responsibility for anything.

Those decent enough to be part of a Premiership squad I'd say are: Krul, Darlow, Yedlin, Clark, Mbemba, Dummett, Hayden, Shelvey, Perez, De Jong, Ritchie, Atsu*, Gayle 13 players. Question marks over Lazaar and Gamez since they didn't really play. Anita probably too but his contract is up and there's no talk of renewal. Add 8 new quality first team players and we'll do more than alright.

When we went down we had no significant debt, loads of saleable assets, one of the top managers in football, the pull to attract players who otherwise wouldn't join a Championship side and a united fanbase for the first time in ages. They have...well...they still have Clattermole I guess.
