It exists to show inclusion of gay players in sports. Especially football where players still feel afraid to be openly gay and their sexuality becomes the subject of intrusive media stories like the many "secret gay married footballer" stories that have been in the press.
-
Or just give the armband to someone else for the game if it's such an awful problem for that person to wear it.
-
There is nothing wrong with being religious. There's nothing wrong with being gay. There's nothing wrong with being religious and gay. There is something wrong about being religious and using that to discriminate against gay people.
-
Its not political. We are real people with real lives who just want to be left alone by people who think religious beliefs gives them the right to discriminate or disinclude us from society.
-
That doesn't even make any sense. Not wearing it and citing religious beliefs is a message you don't support gay people.
-
"People feel they need to have strong opinions" Being gay is not about opinions. It's a fact gay people like myself exist. There is no debate, no opinions and no justification for discrimination due to religious beliefs.
-
Being gay is not an opinion issue. We exist.
-
Yes. It implies he feels he's doing something wrong by wearing the armband which is there to show support for gay people in sports.
-
Did he de-face anything else with "I love Jesus"? No just the rainbow armband funnily enough. This at the same time that Sam Morsy refused to wear it due to "religious reasons".
-
Oh good another religious homophobe. Don't have enough of those around.
-
We haven't though. The only game we played our hearts out in and were unlucky to lose was the Isak debut game where the ref's cheated us.
-
Being thrashed at Anfield and conspiring to lose at home from a winning position against ten men (for most of the game) are great to you then?
-
All of them except Isak's debut game in 2022. Particularly disgraceful performances in both games last season.
-
They've done the double over us every season Howe has been here.
-
They're too consistent these days and we usually do poorly against them anyway. Can't see anything but a convincing loss.
-
My growing concerns about him are that the issues with our play have been going on for over a year now and he doesn't seem to have an answer for it. He is just doubling down and doing the same thing with diminishing results. Additionally why haven't we strengthened the team significantly in the last 3 windows? How much of that is him vetoing players and causing a stalemate. I mean on one hand he's saying we can't spend money we don't have, but then we pursue Guehi like lunatics with no financial sense.
-
What does he do well exactly?
-
At least he was trying today. The rest of the team should hang their heads in shame that the youngest player in the team was the only one who turned up.
-
A cheat who should be banned yet is somehow inexplicably still playing?
-
Even the beews lacked desire and passion.
-
When he first came one of his biggest strengths was that he'd studied the modern game with Atletico and really seemed to have his finger on the button with regards to the gegenpress. But football has evolved in the last two seasons. Every top team has a number 10 and can open up teams that play a low block (which is anyone we play who isn't one of the top teams). He doesn't seem to be evolving this time.

How did we go from Isak silkily chipping Fabianski at the beginning of the game to slicing shots from close range?
-
Yeah its been too conservative.
