I thought it was more to do with the fact that there would have been about 80,000 Newcastle and Sunderland fans all out at the same time in a 15 mile radius with both sets of fans using the Metro and plenty of Mackems catching trains at Newcastle central. Plus the away fans wouldnt help like. There would be loads of trouble.
