Who would you say was our last player to have as good or better close control than him?

I think that a lot of his crossing problems stem from the fact that he is rarely composed while he's attempting the cross. He's always just beat one or two players and has twisted himself into all sorts of shapes so when he actually goes to cross he is off balance. Also I think that his height does him no favours as a winger. I think that it's harder to deliver a good cross at full speed for a taller man than a shorter one. He is by no means massive but he's taller than your average winger.

There was just something in the air yesterday that told me we weren't going to score no matter how hard we tried. So from that point of view, I'm not too disheartened.

I still love you Jonas. But, his crossing is a major issue. Its got to the point where I'm actually surprised when he delivers a good cross. I don't know what he can do to rectify this other than to stay behind for an extra hour after training with a couple of coaches and just practice crossing from various areas of the pitch.

He looked fucking mint when he came on like. But why did he have to wait until 73 minutes to see him? I'm sure he would have set up a goal had he been on the pitch from about 55 minutes or so. That bit where he got the ball and just drove straight into the box and cut it back was superb. So direct, so cutting, so exciting; something I haven't seen in years. Pretty much every time he got the ball he did something class. Keep Spiderman on the wing and either drop Nolan/Smith to accommodate him.

Absolutely nowt. All three of them just rock up to the studio five nights a week with zero research done. I have said it before that sometimes on the news before the show there will be a football story and then when a caller wants to talk about said story, Malcolm is like "errr....errrr....I wasnt aware of that."

I only heard the first few minutes of The Legends tonight but Macdonald said that he couldn't understand why the club had allowed LuaLua to leave and also said that he looked the most likely of the team who played against Accrington to make it in the first team. Macdonald and his caller were discussing how they thought that LuaLua might be benefitting from being coached by Beardsley. Yeah and then he went on to state that he should be in the team ahead of Ben Arfa.

What amuses me is how the general NUFC populace (ie non internet geeks) have literally no clue how good Ben Arfa is. Blokes I talk to at work draw a blank when I tell them how excited I am to see him play. Even Supermac has no clue (whats new) and tonight on the Legends he said that Lua Lua is further up the pecking order than Ben Arfa.

Another class moment was when we played Oldham in 93. Not sure if it was our first game on Sky or not but it was certainly the first time I had seen us on Sky and then Cole and a Pedro screamer done the rest. Magic.

The 3-2 Barca game was the best game I've ever been to. There was just something special in the air that night that I've not experienced since. Of course you had Tino's wonderful hattrick but seeing Keith Gillespie rip Barca several new arseholes was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. Plus the atmosphere that night was the greatest I've ever heard and I guess for those like me who are too young to remember the 70's and 80's, I don't think we will ever get a better atmosphere than that. Honourable mentions to some overlooked moments: - Shearers hattrick V Leicester. - Shearers testimonial. -Demolishing Everton in the FA cup, Ketsbaia, Shearer et al with no roof on the Leazes and Milburn. - Roberts second against Spurs; the whole ground literally sat in silence for a second or two after the goal went in while their brains processed the fucking unbelievable sight coming in through their eyeballs. - Carl Cort's debut.
