A non turn up protest is hard to judge at the moment seeing as we have had poor turn outs this season anyway and this is only the Carling Cup. A full house singing for Freddy out will have a much better effect but we will not get a rfull house even without a protest, but if we get 30,000'ish and everyone joins in Fred will get the message!

As much as I dont think Roeder will do any better, I am still terrified of who we could end up with.

I am positive we have a decent'ish squad and that a better manager would do so much better with them!

I think thats the main thing we were all happy about, that Roeder was not the kind of manager that would rip through a squad like a whirlwind and upset everyone. I dont think we can go by the roar of the crowd anymore to judge how well iked players are, I watched Shearers testimonial again the other day and every single name read out gets a huge cheer. But that was such a great night and everyone was ready to make noise it was bound to happen, its our poor performances that is creating the crap noise levels. Pav was loved and was the only good thing to cheer about on Sunday, okay was before tha game had started but I doubt anyone there had any real belief we were going to winthe game. He has good movement and it will only get better to the more he gets used to the EPL and whast a load of bollocks saying he cannot jump, for a little bloke he has a hell of a leap on him. To get on his case this early is crazy by far more crazy the it was to give Luque stick. Luque does very little when he plays but Martins fights for the cause, okay so he has missed a couple of good chances but at least he was in there to miss the chances!! He is a clever bright little player with baags of pace and at the age of 21 he is only going to improve. I agree 100% he is going to turn out to be a great buy, just a young lad got to settle in a new Country with a new club in a new league. Time is needed and I am sure most are very willing to give him that time. Once he learns he can run in behind in the EPL, defenders are going to panic every time he runs at them and in behind them. Its just going to show at the moment how desperate he is to do well and prove himself, and its that desperation thats costing him infront of gaol, once he calms down he will be fine. Everyone said Luque needed time yet not a lot were willing to give him the time, but you can see the difference in the paly between the two, yes Martins has missed some great chances but at least he is getting chances infront of gaol and he is getting that through his high work rate and determination. Luque shows very little of that when he plays, we cannot really call Luque's finishing becuase he has not been in that many goal scoring situations.

faster than he had ran all game? he was fucking lightning all game. never seen anything like it, and he has great stregnth and teqnique. not pleased with his composure in front of goal, but it should improve. i see what crumpy means, with that chance he really should have done better at, but its too early to write off his striking prowess atm. fastest he ran was when he got onto the end of his own through ball in the first half. or when he closed lescott down and tackled him in the box. those were the two incidents that i was thinking of when i said it blueyes.gif The own through ball one especially. That was funny, I don't think anyone exspected him to get to it he is dam fast like, cant think of any I have seen that are faster. Also today Emre showed how much acceleration he has, his short bursts of pace to close people down are fantastic.
