Speaking of Ronaldo, Romario and Shearer... latest Four Four Two has features or interviews of all three as well as Dennis "there was lucky involved in the Newcastle goal" Bergkamp.
Maybe not the best midfielder we've ever had, but to think back to last Summer and how we would be going into the season with Alan Smith unless we signed someone...
He's as close to a perfect signing as you can get.

Would disagree only on the shooting technique. Ronaldo was better at creating positions to shoot from but Shearer's technique of striking the ball from close, far, volleys, no first touch... is one of the few things he had over R9.
One thing I love about Ronaldo also was how little he seemed to dive and moan. He would get players flying into him but he'd put the priority on evading them, dribbling out of it. Coupled with the way he was always desperate to play again after his injuries, there's a real love for the game at its simplest level.
I Remember when he got that second knee injury with Inter when he just collapsed halfway through a body feint... was just gutted for him.
Don't know about that there. I'd say Shearer has the upper hand it terms of shooting the ball, volleys and the like.
Clearly R9 is miles ahead overall, but I do find it funny how it really irks you to say anything positive about Shearer. So much so you use a player who is probably the best forward ever to shit on him
Still think Shearer's v Everton was better
Rooney's volley against us was better than Shearer's imo.
Sinclair's is the best.
By a mile.
Almost literally
Everton's piss me off. You can't see them.
Exactly. Had black and white nets during the 05-07 period, they were only half as annoying, but still annoying.
