What a gormless cunt Ryder is. Fuck me.

The extra the wanted is basically worth a single place in the league for prize money. If we need to play Perch for more than a handful of games then we'll slip. I can totally understand not being held to ransom over transfers. If a club is taking the piss and wanting far more money than the player is worth then we need to keep on walking away....But if we're talking a few hundred grand then we need to bite the bullet and pay. Had it been a few million on a big transfer then fair enough - this is (relative) peanuts. To be fair if the club really do have one (or two) of the players we've seen mentioned lined up to come in during the summer then I can understand the reluctance to not waste cash on a centre back now. It could effectively be £2 million down the drain if whoever we buy is immediately fourth or fifth choice in six months time. I do think it's daft the club have decided the loan market is a waste of time and money mind. Fair point Just hope not signing an CB doesn't cost us.

This.

I notice Natalie has gone for yellow.

Dead in the water imo. Just couldn't get it over the line etc.

11pm. Or Thursday if your name is Harry Redknapp.

I demand answers.

Shouldn't have reacted at the end of the day. Was petulant but can't complain too much. It's the inconsistency of the FA that's the frustrating thing. You can smash someone in the face with your elbow or try to gouge someone's eye and nothing happens. It's a lottery and needs to be addressed.

No news is good news I suppose... Next game is on Wednesday so you'd have thought that they would have charged him by now if they were going to?
-
Good. Reassuring to know this particular cunt will never play for us again.
-
So true. Bar one summer when they got mad at us for signing the players they wanted (Parker, Emre) I've never really experienced any problems with Everton fans. They're always decent enough. Had an Everton player been found guilty of the stuff Suarez has then we'd have seen and heard none of the nonsense we've had to put up with from Dalglish and LFC. It would have been dealt with completely differently by Moyes and EFC. There would have been no t-shirts, no criticism of Evra, no claims of an FA conspiracy, no claims of the word being acceptable in Uruguay, no language experts needed, fucking none of that shite. He'd have apologised, taken the rap and moved on. Completely different kettle of fish despite sharing a city.

Yes, Ben Arfa. As I'll say again. Very hypocritical of him to do it to Ben Arfa but Shola gets away scot free. Staggering decision to even start him, let alone reward him with the captaincy, after his previous 2 appearances. Don't understand it as we had several better options than play him. Sends out entirely the wrong message.

'Scousers' getting a lot of stick for this atm. Loads of neutral fans having a pop at them which is a bit unfair on Everton fans imo. This isn't a Liverpool thing, it's a Liverpool Football Club thing. Everton fans don't behave like this. They're being tarred with the 'scousers' brush when it the odious scum who follow LFC who deserve all the shit that's slung their way. They're fucking arseholes.

Can't understand why Shola is leading the line at all. got no problem with switching to a 4-3-3 IF he chooses the right players to do it with. Picking Shola as the main man is suicide because he has neither the presence, movement or nous to do the job effectively. The whole point of playing with a 3 in the middle of the park is to control possession of the ball, allow one of them to get past the striker and protect the CHs. We did ok to keep hold of the ball, particularly in the first half, but offered nothing too much for Brighton to worry about. Best had a decent chance but that was it. Best is wasted as a wide forward. Never involved in the game enough and not in the box often enough to offer a threat. Not his fault but he's never going to blast past the full-back and whip a cross in either - he's a striker and should be picked as one. They simply dropped off and kept their shape. Our lack of movement was dire and can't remember one of Cabaye, Jonas or Guthrie breaking into the box to get on the end of a cross. No idea what he was hoping to achieve making the 3 subs either. That was just too baffling to start trying to make sense of. We all knew we were going to miss Ba and Tiote this month and, fuck me, isn't it apparent? Losing Coloccini was a blow but it's the other end of the park that's more worrying. We need to go back to 4-4-2 and have Ba and Cisse starting every game where possible. The alternatives are embarrassingly poor. Get it sorted Pardew.

Can't believe I'm about to write this: I'd bring Lovenkrands on.
-
If the right don't getcha the left one will... Dirty cunt.
-
That's the exact position his body gets in when he's going up for a header. All that's missing is the gormless grin and a sharp blast on the ref's whistle as he signals for a foul against him.

Realistically though....no f***er would pay Smith anywhere near £30k a week I think he'd struggle to get half that to be honest, he'd go to a mid-table championship team at best and they surely wouldn't be able to afford much more than £10k. I can sympathise with the greedy angle but realistically I think he'd be taking a £2m+ paycut per year to play for a fairly s*** championship team which probably wouldn't be that exciting when you've previously played in the champions league and got a few England caps under your belt. He should be looking to get some mental deal in China, Qatar or the like. Smith played alongside Michael Duberry whilst he was at Leeds. I dare say Duberry wasn't on the same type of wages as Smith was. He's not the greatest player and was a bit of a liability but he's currently playing for Oxford Utd in League 2. I've got nothing but respect for Duberry who has slipped down the leagues but is still playing regularly. He's a footballer who has been prepared to put playing above earning money. His priorities are right - play as long as you can. Smith's priorities are f***ed up. s*** example tbh. 57 appearances in 6 years at Leeds btw, should he have left earlier to seek regular football? That's a lot less football than Smith has played here. The point was that Duberry made playing football a priority. Smith doesn't seem to want to play. You're making it sound like he's doing a Tevez.. I'm sure Smith would be delighted if Pardew selected him to play in the absence of Tiote. Pardew's made it clear he'll not pick him regardless of a Tiote injury. Smith's had the chance to play regularly for Leeds this season but, despite it being blatantly obvious that he's out of favour here, he'd rather not go elsewhere. His manager doesn't rate him, Smith knows this and he'd still rather not play for us as opposed to play at a lower level for a lower wage. Don't get it. Money, obviously. I'd do the same as Smith. Would you move to a school in a shitter area for half your salary but more contact teaching time with the kids? Teachers aren't footballers and the jobs aren't comparable in any way. A 21 year-old teacher is doing the same job as a 64 year-old teacher. Less contact time with kids is easier than more contact time. Your wage is not negotiable. The career is often 3 or 4 times as long etc Shit example tbh. I'm sure having every Saturday off is easier than playing as well. Bottom line is we both hope he fucks off and the sooner the better but I have no real ill feeling towards him. You having a pop there like? I'm paid to perform for 195 days a year. This useless cunt can't be trusted to perform at all due to his lack of ability. I hope he fucks off asap and people see him for what he actually is.

He's dropped down the leagues, he's not earning very much but he's still playing. His priorities are right. What is to say Smith will not do that at the end of his contract? He may, he may not. Don't give a fuck where he ends up tbh.
