http://www.profitablegroup.com/division-players.aspx Basically, they want to ship more Asian players into Europe in order to create idols back home, and so sell more merchandise. They also want to ship the players over on Tevez-style deals so they can continue to milk the transfer fees etc. They obviously see us as a good way in due to our relatively low price, we're due for some low-cost recruitment, and we're a recognised name in Asia. It makes sense, I suppose. or it's the same as that thing we did with middle east players a while back. just an advertising exercise really for the clubs involved.
  4. just heard a rumour that espn may be prepared to get in on the game and challenge sky.
  5. That is easily one of the worst popular songs I have ever heard. if it was a good song it wouldn't really be fitting to our situation now would it ?

Gte me his email address and I will, email seems to be the way these things are done. You know where it's at, no messing about. If I rang I would just get all soppy and start declaring my love I just can't be arsed working out the Singapore dialling-code business. You need an email address, hence the reason we've seen some potential action today after the statement yesterday. Who's idea was it to put the email ad on? It was clearly it was a top move. do you really think todays action was because of the e-mail statement yesterday............ "mr mcmahon do you think newcastle united at one hundred million pounds is a good option" "yes" "ah bugger...can't find the e-mail address, just have to pass then" My money is on sarcasm. darn. sometimes i'm just toooo literal.

He did aquire it. That is one of the theories i have heard re him putting us into Administration. He creates a new company, transfers all assets such as land to this new company and leaves only the players in the Football Company and puts that into administration. if he creates a new company and transfers the assets (not sure how legal that would be to start with) what would be the point in putting the rest into administration ?

But then where does the funding to cover next year's debts and rebuild the team come from? try a fred and talk ashley down to 80mill for a start.

anyway...... now that the debt has been taken out the equation maybe nusc's idea could be re-thought. if 50,000 fans (and we do have them) put in £2,000 which in the grand scheme of things isn't that great a deal, that would provide the £100,000,000.

is the old brewery site not going to become the new science park. i'm not sure if the club ever owned that. i thought they just owned the land where the magpie and old novocastria club was ?
  21. does anyone think personal terms are the problem ?
  22. cutting through the tabloid gossip...does it not just seem until the banks give the overdraft guarantee thingy then ashley can't meet the criteria that shearer wants ? arguments can be made either way as to wether the bank would see it as a good idea to give it in light of the club being up for sale ?
  23. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/8089017.stm otball captain killed in crash Gordon Lennon (right) and manager Jim Chapman Gordon Lennon (right) with Dumbarton manager Jim Chapman Dumbarton Football Club has confirmed that its captain has been killed in a crash while on a family break. Gordon Lennon died in an off-road accident near Dingwall on Sunday. The 26-year-old led his side to promotion to Division Two last season. The club's website states that everyone connected with Dumbarton was "shocked and deeply saddened" at the death of Gordon Lennon. The club said its thoughts were with his partner and five-month-old baby. Northern Constabulary said the accident happened at about 1640 BST on Sunday at Brahan near Maryburgh. Mr Lennon was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but died from his injuries. The Dumbarton FC statement reads: "Gordon was an inspiration both on and off the park and his influence will be felt by many both within and outwith Dumbarton Football Club for a very long time to come. "He was not just a quality footballer, he was a great man with so many qualities and was rarely seen without his trademark smile. "He always had time to speak with supporters, of any club, and everyone associated with Dumbarton Football Club are proud that he considered his greatest footballing achievement was lifting the Scottish Football League 3rd Division Championship trophy as the captain of Dumbarton last month. "Our condolences go out to his family and as a club we will assist his family in whatever way we can through these difficult times and those that lie ahead." hope this adds some perspective. such a shame.
