  1. godsmark,doninger and someone else.
  2. who made the decisions not to offer them new contracts ? still under contract till june 30th. shouldn't that decision be made by the new man who may have knowledge of them ?
  3. Both NUFC and SAFC releasing players, without a manager ? Who has made these decisions ?
  4. i haven't read all through this thread nor have i read much of todays press but has it been mentioned anywhere that in the biggest match of their season.........ALEX FERGUSON QUITE PROBABLY GOT IT COMPLETELY WRONG .
  5. People f***ing suck this s*** up as well, just spotted this on another board I post on and I'm afraid I had to bite. yeah ive responded to a couple of posts like that on other forums. there is a media driven stereotype floating around of what the typical nufc fan is like and it bears little relation to the vast and varied reality. People conflate typical with having a relatively high proportion. The NUFC stereotype is as accurate as that of any other other club's fans. all depends where you get your stereotype from. wether it be from your own experience or the myopic, viewed through the bottom of a glass cheap journalistic type of stereotype. you bin dipping hub cap thief you.
  6. it's a paradox. yes i want my club to be the best. i want the world to be in awe at my club.......................but at the same time after years of the seriousness of old trafford and white hart lane i'll make more of an effort for the fun of oakwell and loftus road.
  7. at last. something to make it interesting.

    Steve Harper

rational, sensible, non knee -jerk or full of blind prejudice. you've no place on here kidda.
  9. why not go for someone with experience ? outside of steve bruce (whom i don't think would have came in sept or now) who else would've come here. if you are talking even lower down the leagues then you could say shearer has more experience of working with players at this level and more knowledge of how a club of this size works. the thrust of the article is that nufc fans just want shearer because he is an nufc hero.........so is pedro, gazza, rob lee and philipe....neither of which i think would cut it as a manager.
  10. yet newcastle subsidised their rail link and now thay have a service which is worse than when the trains ran it. they got THEIR metro but a worse service......bet they're happy.
  11. Yep..my sentiments exactly. They aint been talking long though, we have the matter of JFK (prob try fit him in somewhere), coaching staff contracts, length of the deal, investment, assurances, etc is going to take a while. i very much doubt contracts would even be discussed (other staff). i'll bet personal details for shearer are already sorted, the sticking points will be how much he'll be given to get us back up and what freedom he has to do that.
  12. depends what it has on the back. it may get mistaken for PAOK.
  13. is anyone getting the feeling that the longer this drags on the more it is likely to turn out the way it did when we eneterd a couple of days of talks to keep keegan ?
  14. the thing is keegan was that, but he also knew how to play the crowd. beneath the media manipulation he was ruthless. can shearer be the same....i think so...has he got the eye for a player and tactical nouse that keegan started with... i hope so.
  15. premiership club bought for apparently £32 mill as opposed to a championship one for at least £90mill if press are to be believed. Even still where's the scope for growth, we have proven that we can fill our stadium. there's also the 100mill loan repayable to ashley. what are pompeys outstanding debts out of curiosity ?

  17. Sunderland's fans have the outlandish idea they live in a not so nice area and want it to change. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=412566
  18. Peterborough will be good, it was in the FA Cup a few years ago, 4k tickets and not a seat in the away end. posh in the fa cup...early 80's wasn't it. i was at the justin fashanu league cup game and the promotion season one. i wonder if that bar that had the optics on the outer side of the bar is still there ? I was thinking of the FA Cup game in 2002, we won 4-2. The game you are thinking of might have been when we played them away in the FA Cup in 1978 and then beat them in a replay at St James' Park but I wasn't even born then. totally forgot about that 4-2. how could i forget jamie mcclen scoring ?
  19. so you'd say no to a northen consortium who'd promise a 50mill transfer kitty out of their own pockets ?

  21. Last two promotions, every away game from about xmas, was like a huge Party, some brilliant weekends,.. to be fair the season before when we very nearly went down was damned good aswell.
  22. I understand how some people are unsure about a takeover at present, but provided it is by people who GENUINELY want to invest in the club AND run it properly, I would not be against one. After all, we cannot be more disorganized than we are right now, and swift action is necessary if the club are to have ANY chance of a quick return to the Prem - despite the Bookies' odds. Ashley has proved himself such an unpredictable loose cannon that even though he has apologised to fans for mistakes, you would not bet against him making more ; he is incredibly arrogant(witness his treatment of KK after the fall-out with Wise), and pig-headed(appointing Hughton and Co as temp manager after Kinnear's heart probelms, thereby wasting 2 months which could have seen Shearer in charge and a possible escape from the drop)... However, I would NOT want Shepherd(or his family)involved in ANY takeover of the club - he has been responsible for the club's decline after SBR, and we need people with both nous and a degree of honour to run the club...if Shepherd was among those involved, I would prefer to stick with Ashley. Ultimately, the club WILL be taken over, whether its now or in a year or so - its a matter of time. on the other hand it could be someone who can just about afford to buy the club, wants to install his auntie as manager and plans to sell off the training ground and train at newburn sports centre. i'll be unsure till i see what anyone offers.
  23. unsure, depends what any new prospective owner has to offer.
