in the press today PNE are announcing that they will give us (and blackpool) the entire tom finney stand for when we play there capacity 5,500 as opposed to the usual 3,500 allocation. should be canny, haven't been to deepdale in years. it's changed a lot since i was there.

He's trying to save his career basically and in that sense he is trying to put a positive spin on things. However the failure of Owen at Newcastle is predominantly due to how s*** our club has been the past 2 years, notwithstanding signing him in the first place. i'd say it was an even split.

ESPN UK wins Premier League TV rights - Free on Virgin Media's Top package.
madras replied to Interpolic's topic in Football
I tried to cancel the other day and was told (by two seperate people) that I had to email or send them a letter, then it would take a month from the next billing date. Predictably I've had no confirmation. f***ing amateurs man, absolutely no idea about customer service. I take it you're with Sky? When we cancelled ours, I just rang Virgin Media and had it removed from my service, no problem. how much were you paying for it on virgin ? i'm on the XL package and get ot for nowt. -
yeah you do. everyone uses the past as a guide to the present and future. however my major point has always been that, as yet there is little evidence either way and most back keegan purely because of who he is. had keegan been the DoF and wise the manager people would still have backed keegan. with what we know being very little we only have personalities to go on.

I agree. I don't want him anywhere near the club. Unbelievable comments Terrible times under Keegan wasnt it, making us feel good about the club, attacking football, 1, 3,6,2,2 finishes, failing to win the league by a whisker, beating Man U 5 0, playing 4 up front. Hope we never see the like again, good riddance kev i kna,.. somebody was complaining the other day cos he only left us in 5th place in the league, 5th ,...s*** aint it. be lucky to be 5th in championship next season. tbf i think most are saying they are pissed off with the manner of his leaving both times. if he was ever to come back it would be walking on egg shells time. oh and fwiw i've always felt keegans better football was produced when he couldn't just go out and buy just about who he wanted. i've never felt keegan himself had that much faith in his ability.

you say tu are a bit up their own arses then recommend they should join up with nusc? you couldn't make it up. Im sorry Fading Star but , I am going to have to 100% agree with wshmag on this one. I can understand how you would think the TU are stuck up there own arse , but to be honest we have helped alot. Not saying we make the atmosphere but as a group we have contributed largley in my opinion. The real TU have done a million times more for Newcastle than NUSC ever will tbh this is how the real IRA and the INLA came into conflict.

Cos he anticipated getting £12m to spend on a better player(s)? Also would have triggered a fair amount of controversy if he hadn't, given that he'd said a few days earlier that he didn't want the guy to leave. In theory that works but it seems really strange to me that he'd compromise his principles like that in order to save face for the club and then walk out 3 days later because of those same principles Well if you put yourself in his position it is easier to understand. He sells a player he doesn't want to sell but he gets big money for him and thinks he can replace him (and he probably would have with a better player). Three days later he not only hasn't been allowed to replace him, but he has watched Dennis Wise piss up big money on players who were not required. He wasn't gonna go on SSN and tell the world those were his decisions was he. the rumour of the time was that sebastian schweinsteiger was lined up (fee and terms agreed) then the player pulled out on deadline day. often wondered if there was any truth in it ? still hope it goes to court.

All, bar one, were signed when Shepherd was still chairman, only Smith was signed just after when Mort came in. Sorting out a £70m wage structure in under 2 years is anything but easy. Selling them isn't guarenteed unless your willing to sell at whatever price is neccesary to move them. Also as you sell you have to keep bringing in new players to try to improve the team. No doubt this is the season when the wage bill was planned to drop significantly with a lot of high earners finally out of contract (dropping the bill by £14m), just a pitty the fat idiot managed to get us relegated the same year i do actually believe that was the plan, brinkmanship by ashley that failed.
-
how about "if" (and it has to ba "if" as ,as of yet we have no evidence either way) keegan stamped his feet demanding certain players that were out of price/wage range ?
-
we only have speculation to defend him with aswell. exactly. So let's give him the benfit of the doubt then instead of having these daft arguments everytime no i wont give him the benefit of the doubt. i'll await evidence before i decide which side of the fence to be on.

sure i heard the name freddie bobic there. surely not the freddie bobic ? anyway we've all done it before but without the padding.

tbf allardyces team should have got beat at sunderland the year before. we were worse in that game than the one in which we actually got beat. still though, the appointment of kinnear was still a stupid move.

keegan was director of football originally at fulham. ray wilkins the then manager hasn't a good word to say about keegans behaviour as DoF.

so that means the profitable group isn't one of the four ? seems like those having a go cos they are at the races are those who look for the slightest non-sensical reasons to have a go. due diligence is being carried out, they may well have been told it will not be completed in the next couple of days and i'd imagine if they got an offer they could be informed. the vast majority will be in the hands of seymour pierce.

i hope that was typed while you wore a sarcastic smile.

thats nufc...its part of the reason why we are different.

They are just two positions above Fiji Good luck to them in any case, is it possible for South and North Korea to be drawn together in the group stages? they just have been in the qualifiers. I meant at the world cup... It's not allowed to be drawn with a team you've been in the qualifiers with. that true ? never knew that

I meant at the world cup... it would be possible but unlikely as they would be in the same pot, nowt to do with political reasons as proved by them being drawn in the same group in the qualifiers.

that could be true. depends what sort of contract the likes of duff and martins are on.

Italy are a very good team but overrated italy haven't looked it over the last year.
