They don't need to deny anything as it's plainly ridiculous. We've got massively expensive assets and huge income. Even Leeds who were in a far worse situation than us and every other club in history only went into admin in 2007 because they were going to be relegated to the third division anyway, that was a full 5 years after it went tits up, 3 years after they were relegated from the Premiership and years after they had sold all of their assets. Creditors are a lot more eager to get their money back ASAP in the current economic cimate though aren't they? the main cerditor is the person he'll get burned most by going into administration. remembering that if they go into administration any creditors will be unlikely to get anywhere near what they are owed. The club took out a new mortgage in November 2008, so there's some bank we owe money to who'd probably want what they can get while we have £60M of on field assets rather than in three or four months time when it's £10M. I don't know the case, but Ashley is trying to sink JJB (a company he owns a fifth of) which seemed strange to me...until I realised all the cheap real estate it would leave for Sports Direct to buy. I don't know the truth or motives, but I'm not dismissing the story out of hand. ashley would lose massivly on administration as he is not only by far the major creditor but the ammount he'd lose on his purchase. he'd be much better off selling at a loss than allowing administrators to sell it off at even more of a loss. nowt about NUFC would surprise me though. No-one's buying, so it's difficult for him to sell a club that's losing millions every season. Depending on how big the mortgage is, he could have covered a significant amount of the purchase price with it. He's £8m up in transfers. He's taken 3 years of season ticket cash up front from many fans. Considering the players (that he couldn't offload) and property the club own, there'd be a canny amount that came back from that too. if nobodies buying then all the administrator will do is liquidate the assets and he'll basically take as big a hit as it is possible to take. rmember it'll be a leeds style fire sale. ha hasn't taken as much up front as you think. (set up a poll and see how many have pais the lot up front and how many are paying monthly). 8mill up in transfers but that is company money. i don't think he's allowed to just walk off with it. (any of those accountants around to clarify this ?) as happened with leeds the club would go as a going concern so the value of the property wouldn't really come into it. Perhaps. I was only responding to the fact that it's "plainly ridiculous" which I disagree with. gggg was saying "We've got massively expensive assets and huge income", but the net income of the club has been an annual loss in the tens of millions....and those expensive assets look a lot less valuable in the championship. Either way I reckon Ashley would be left with a loss. I don't know the how it works out, but if he can walk away now with a £100M loss, or put in another 3 years of thankless work and end up walking away with a £75M loss, who's to say he wouldn't want rid of the ball and chain sooner rather than later? i agree he'll be left with a loss but, purely my opinion, administration would mean bigger losses. unfortunatly as this is NUFC the more it is plainly ridiculous, the more it is likely.

Not true as such as all debts that are classed as " football debts" have to be paid in full. what are the "football debts" ?

why would you get banned ? I don't know what his major intention was, what do you think it was ? I'm GUESSING that he didn't understand football too much, looked at our crowds, revenue and thought that he could make a small profit while retaining the income and spending less - and/or owning it for a few years and selling it on for a profit. Which is where he's come unstuck, because he had no wider understanding or knowledge of the football club. He clearly doesn't want to compete in the way the other big clubs do, and we are a big club, aren't we ? would you care to tell us how we should compete with the big clubs ?

Has it been on yet ? No idea if the (COMPLETELY LEGAL) net stream is lagged behind live broadcast but they just played Llambias rubbishing them. and he said "we are fighting for releagtion" freudian slip ?

it's a rule i'd like to bring in, like the champs league have a limit on how many players can be registered per team to take part in the competition, teams can register maybe 20 players at the start of each season and thats what they have to get on with.

I used to love it as a kid getting into football grounds back in the eighties, the mass of fellow fans heading in the same direction. I always enjoyed the moving as one moments, feet occasionally lifting up from the ground, carried along in a sea of black and white, 'hey man, how man, hey man, how man', the smell of beer in the air, the scent of an old leather jacket pressed against my nose, always a tab burning my ear, the jokes and laughter, the slow steady movement until the light got brighter and you finally emerged with the crowd noise ringing in your ears, that sound, the sound of the match about to kick off, nothing else like it, nothing in the world. i never liked after barnsley away when i got trapped up against a wall and didn't think i'd get out. those were the times though........football fans wanted to do that and the police were quite prepared to let them. it's only when someone gets hurt that anything is thought about being done.

hamstring has been ok the last week or so.......there could be a cameo (not camisole) yet.
-
did the police tell all those fans to push towards the turnstiles/gate ?

It basically means administrators would come in and sell off Ashley's own assets at a fraction of their value and give the proceeds, minus there own rather large fee, to Ashley. All players would be available for next to nowt and the club would also be available for next to nowt. Unless Ashley desperately, and I mean DESPERATELY, needs a few million now I see no point in it at all. Would be better for Ashley if we went down, he pocketed a sum of the cash from player sales and then sold the club for about £100million. rubbish. he could sell them as prem players then sell the club as a prem club for more than he could as a championship club.

you'll get an answer but it will have little to do with the question and will appear as some ancient buddhist riddle.

inside the ground there was a crush caused due to it being a totally enclosed area and those at the back just entering didn't know the circumstances at the front. not so outside where they'd have known the only reason for the pushing was because of trouble getting in as there were walls preventing people getting in. not so inside where most people stand away from the front for a better view and anyone coming into the back of it would have thought there was space if those in front of them moved forward.
-
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Everyone there contributed to being there, blame is a completely separate issue! those that contributed to the pushing etc should ask themselves if the police would have fucked up so much if it wasn't for them.
-
He forgot to put while reading Roddy Doyle books as well. "missed the match, was waiting for godot" shurely ?
-
Well put, summed it all up perfectly to me. especially the last sentence. "unwittingly contributed" is where a portion of the blame should lie.
-
for fucks sake...have you read a single thing i've posted..yes it was the wrong decision by the police,no-one denies this. but if it wasn't for the actions of the fans the police wouldn't have been in the position of being able to make a wrong decision.

there now that wasn't so hard was it you paranoid glory hunter you. Its a touchy subject which is why im careful about getting into it. You get ignorant people who give people grief about this sort of thing without even realising what they are talking about. Im not saying you are like that, but anyone could have just nit picked at that post and the next 3 pages would be arguments about the politics of Ireland, once again. doubt anyone would ever think to put ireland, politics and religion together.

"we" Yes.... we thought you were from northern ireland...as in born and bred there ? Im not even going to bother explaining myself to you, what is the point when you will just pick faults with whatever I say. It is also no concern of yours. Move on madras i'll only pick faults if there's faults to be picked at. You dont even know me and yet you assume so much, that is the only fault I see here. what am i assuming ? That I have no right to support the Republic and that I should be support Northern Ireland by the looks of it. you have the right to support whoever the hell you want, you'll find i'm always curious as to what reasons people have for supporting teams other than those they have more connection with. now i'll just assume you have something to hide as you appear very defensive about it.
