It'll save us any loyalty bonus, which I'd imagine is pretty substantial for a player like Given. Surely the statement saying he wanted to leave would do that. It'll be a contractual thing. Until he puts in a written transfer request, he'll be entitled to any loyalty bonus. So how come we had to pay Bartons when he hadn't handed in a request? Eh? He was entitled to it, and we agreed to pay it instead of his club. Yes, but why didn't Man City pay it? because they agreed a deal at a certain price. to then pay the loyalty clause would drop that price and they werent prepared to do that. i'll bet if you look at bartons personal finances that payment was from MCFC

They valued Heskey at £10m, how much did they sell him for again? was heskey out of contract in the summer ? yes so £10mill for heskey was a bit of bravado to try and up the price, never realistic.

More tarnished than him faking injury so he didn't have to play against City? He didnt fake injury did he? I thought that was the "officila" line that clubs give. i agree

where were the nolan and taylor rumours ? or the kaka and ribery ones ? Thanks for a pointless reply. Work to your strengths. Seriously though, is it just speculative and people are jumping the gun? apparently "sources" have been linking us for days, both here and in italy to the point it is reperted that a bid has been lodged. you should know from most we've signed under the present regime that it is kept hush-hush for as long as poss. -

We may get Nolan and Taylor, but I would be surprised if we managed to get Donadel as well. If we got all four though, I would be impressed with our efforts all things considered. with a saviola on the side sir ? A waaafer thin mint too far? Ah f*** it, why not. that made me laugh -
Those 3 said a bid had been made, and they were considering it hadn't been accepted. And Towelie, while I cannot scientifically prove they would 110% accept it, common sense tells me that €9m bid for him will be successful. This is in part due to the financial troubles in Serie A in general, proof of this comes in the shape of the sale Giampolo Pazzini for €8m to Sampdoria, when last year they were quoting prices of double that, and before you ask this was not over the top stupid negotiating from Fiorentina, Pazzini is a good prospect for Italy, you may remember him as the one who scored a hat-trick against England U21's. so pure guesswork like the rest of us as opposed to an inside track ?

Yeah I mean whats 11 years like you'd think after 11 years if he wanted to leave he'd stick a request straight in instead of going through the dance he danced. Its a strange one alright the way he went about it.You cant blame him for being fed up.He will always be one of the greats for me,gave 110 percent in every match. The second best keeper I have ever seen after Schemiceal true but i've lost all respect for him the way he has behaved this month.
