daft man. you're talking almost 6 years back, and a player who only had 2 good seasons in his entire career jesus wept ronald

I do hope these people realise that if we signed Bellamy, we'd have two strikers shorter than him. He'd be a giant among men. height doesn't matter too much....timing and execution does. think how many headres owen has scored, martins for that matter. ferdinand was,i believe under 6ft aswell. I'm sorry, but no. There are severe disadvantages to have three tiny strikers, and two fragile tiny strikers. It's not even about being under or above six foot. I definitely take some one who has 5' 10-11 and a bit robust. I think power and height are important attributes of strikers and always have been. martins is robust and on aoccasions has shown himself to be able to lead like that (unfortunatly as he keeps proving you never know which martins is turning up). agreed it's not ideal but think rooney-tevez........beardsley-cole....?

we also dont want to get rid of players for nowt if we can get fees for them (taking into account wages etc). i still think butt's problem is similar to when he first came here...no movement=no options for him to pass.

Meh and No. The romantic in me would like to be appointed and for him to do well. The reality-prone portion of me can't see it. Weren't his European exploits based in reality? Yes. But I still don't think he would get the time "proper time a manager needs". The mob would be on his back if results weren't as good as hoped. They'd be banging on about how he did a good job with a small club in a poor league but really can't cut it at a big club. You can already predict the arguments. The nay-sayers would hound him out like they do everyone else. robson got plenty of time as the fans could see what he was doing. don't fall into the medias trap. Robson was sacked for finishing 5th! because then we were going backwards, massivly in the playing standard from the season before and appeared to have created and lost a boltchy dessing room. earlier on he delivered mid table finishes but we could see it was going the right way.

Good, rightly they shouldn't. Butt has done f*** all to warrant an improved contract. done more than guthrie this season imo and with a thin squad maybe it makes sense to try and keep those with a saleable value. Personally don't agree with that but each to their own. I think Guthrie has become an important member of our first team and I'd sooner see him in the starting XI than Butt. we'll disagree then

c-cos they can agree deals to move (pre-contract) in j-january. Excluding Owen, so ? Harper while a good keeper is backup I can't see him getting better offers. Butts past it and waiting to play alongside Gary Speed ,Shola the same. they have offered owen a contract. harper will get picked up for a fee in excess of his re-sign fee and the risk woukld be to make a profit before they take outr too much wages,in the meantime they fill out a thin squad, butt and shola likewise.

offering contracts to butt,shola,owen,harper....all have salebale value not offering contracts to edgar, cacapa etc......who no-one would want to buy (you'd only get edgars signing on fee as his transfer fee) makes sense to me as i don't think many will take up the offer as the contracts wont have much of an improvment in them.

Would help a lot imo as well. You would think that most clubs at this level do this already but with us it's all too easy to believe we don't. I always get the feeling that youngsters are considered a last resort for first team action at Newcastle. For me the sensible thing would be to promote them to the bench when we have injuries in a specific area in the team like - let's say from the top of my head - central midfield. That is common sense.....but you never know with this club! We need a manager to stay long long time in order to develop a system or formation we would play EVERY week (maybe with few changes if we play one of the 4 big away) Reserves and youth must play same system and the manager looks for promising youngsters as well.....its the only way to do it......like arsenal! (have to mention i dont no anything about the system which we play in the reserves.....but i´ll be surprised if its the same as our 1st team which changes every second game) Then we wouldn´t have promising players like LuaLua in the reserve-team which dosen´t get the chance in the 1st team because he dosen´t fits any positions! what the f... is that? One of the most promising in reserves is hardly considered for the 1st team eventhough we lack so much debt there! I hope we would try to copy arsenals concept......would not like us to go the same way as Man City! Actually I believe Ashley was trying to go the arsenal way....and Keegan wanted the City way.....Ashley should never have hired Wise and others. Leave it all to Shearer.....he would be a good choice i believe.....give him at least 3 years!! how many kids have come through our ranks recently who have been good enough even for a regular spot on the bench ? it's not as if many have moved on and proved us wrong.

i'm working on a new disciplinary code,a pistol whipping instead of a yellow card maybe.

then it'll be easier to place the ball under the wall (ronaldinho's done it a few times) or through the wall as the wall will inevitably break up when jumping. often wondered what the ref would do if the wall all put their arms up, and claimed their arms were in the air well before the ball was kicked, hence "ball to hand"

i don't think we ever saw him at his best because his best had been about 5 or more years earlier.
-
did he not get pissed off because a fan was criticising him and telling him how to improve his game and doesn't beardsley have that, unfortuntaly too frequent problem of being a once great player who is a s*** coach. No, he was calm about it actually. The odds are stacked against great players becoming good coaches as there are hell of a lot more hite players than great players. Also people class the likes of Wegner & Fergie as s**** players but they were hardly Jose Mourhino when it comes to playing football. as much with beardsley that what made him great.....you just can't teach. I would loved him to of been able to each any of our strikers to "dip the shoulder & go." With the likes of him & Andy Cole you sort of knew if they got 1-on-1 it was in. even in his latter days i was never confident of shearer on 1 on 1's or pens.
-
That's because I'd rather have Zaki and pay what it takes to get him. be interesting to see if zaki is a name anyone will remember this time next year.

could be the answer to the wide right problem. Yup. still depends on the price mind. £5mill being too much

theres a big difference between "never injured" and bellamy.
-
with bellamy it's hardly a tale of "the last few months"
