  1. the lad next to me said with 20mins to go "if bassong gets a hat trick of own goals he'll still be man of the match by a mile".....he was right.
  2. very even game,2 very even teams,we created slghtly the better chances. draw a fair result but if either team was going to win it was us as we created marginally more good chances.
  3. Very good article. 80k is more than most earn in a year, he earns that 52 times a year, which is more years than anyone works. More than enough money for life. I still get a bit annoyed thinking about how much he has invested in his stables since he moved back from Madrid. I think he will sign the offer but if he doesnt, he's been poorly advised as his reputation will fall dramatically unless he goes to one of the big 4. he'll wait and assess his options, both financially and career wise and choose which he thinks is best for him...........as would most of us if it wasn't "our club"
  4. can't blame him IF TRUE. permanent job over temporary job.
  5. or for example ha hasn't done anything to show why should be given a chance. at least chopra played well when out on loan playing first team football and earned a chance.carroll was poor when given his chance at preston.

    Kieron Dyer

True, part of Englands Baby Bentley generation. Along with Jenas, Bramble and co. Was it not NRC who started that? What justification do you have for adding JJ and Titus to this? Because along with Anton and the likes they got money before the success. Bramble was on major cash at Newcastle. He would regularly take 10k out to go gambling and party then let friends "Keep the change" along with Jenas and Dyer it was "How much do we waste tonight." Dyer was even a t*** to his so called friends. One story in particular proves this, he was out with some friends at the cinema and they were waiting while one went to the toliet, and they were all joking taking the mick like friends do, a friend had said something about the dodgy looking trainers Dyer had on if I remember right was some piece of clothing lets put it that way. Dyer not only took offence but went "Listen I could pay for your entire life and your families twice and still have change ok, I could go buy your house make your family homeless" and basically took the joke much further than needs be, and got very personal to the point where the friend just left and rightly so. He was always an arrogant prick you got one chance to be another sycophant and if you weren't then you didn't get the time of day. Jenas wasn't as bad, but near the end got arrogant. 2 of the biggest misconceptions about bad players are Robert and Babayaro, those two were true gents, Robert would sign autographs till the sun went down and even stopped a lunch he was having with his wife in his car in the grounds car park to pose for a photo and sign a girls top. Babayaro was very much a nice guy and would help his friends anyway he could, when he left Newcastle he paid a few extra months of his flat for 2 friends to live in while they found a job and would regularly tell them "If you need any football boots or a new phone (During his Chelsea days) let me know." I'll be honest I don't know massive amounts about the current crop, apart from the obvious like Martins being a nice guy Harper actually not being so nice and Dave Edgar being an arrogant t***. one story ? i saw dyer around town quite a bit and he always seemed quite embarrassed about the attention he was given. admittedly he didn't seem at ease at handling the public but in all the times i saw him i never saw him play the twat.
  7. Tart. at work 4-30am monday morning. anyway to prove i'm not a tart is shall be having my usual 27 pints before the match,a molten phall and shagging 3 barmaids.
  8. Funny that, given the way you behave on here, you would swear you were the 16 year old idiot. Call me some more names though, make yourself feel good. surely you could open a thread on general chat for taht.
  9. hurrah....got my lieu day. straight home after the game though.
  10. I hope Viduka's getting closer to full fitness, he's been training long enough now. We'll find out one way or the other whether Oba's a liability rather than an asset when we see how our other strikers pair up over Xmas anyway. how'd that work ? It depends...we are still talking football right? aye are you thinking you can tell if one player is good or not by how the team does in his absence regardless of how the rest of his team performs or how the opposition do. ?
  11. HTT just likes to swing wildly to the extremes of debates....wont be long till he is declaring that all sharks, the murdering bastards, should be wiped out beyong extinction, eradicating all there DNA and eagles will be his new fave.
  12. "SWARFEGA" with a nice big "11" underneath perhaps
  13. I hope Viduka's getting closer to full fitness, he's been training long enough now. We'll find out one way or the other whether Oba's a liability rather than an asset when we see how our other strikers pair up over Xmas anyway. how'd that work ?
  14. took spurs tonight.......hopefully to win and sustain lots of injuries
  15. Hasn't he been touted for a few jobs recently? Off to Swindon by the looks of it. Good luck to him if so. good luck but a shame he's got it as gary speed was interviewed for it aswell.
  16. Source: The Sun. Seems to contradict each other. I tend to believe the quote. I think the sun probably added the first bit highlighted, because if there is no interference then Keegan could come back. it's a question of what is classed as interfeerence. for example west ham.if the press are to be believed are willing to cash in on dean ashton for around £15mill. if a manager wants to buy him but the clubs board thinks it is too much for a player with his injury record etc......is that "interference" ? if rochdales manager wants to buy christiano ronaldo but his board says we can't afford him..is that interference ? if for example david moyes wants to bid £15mill for terry henry and his board don't want to spend that much on someone that old but are willing to sanction a larger bid for carlos tevez..is that interference ?
  17. that shows what happens when you look at the world through statoculars
  18. not particularly. These things are caused by people who can't bring themselves to admit the truth. very true. the truth being we had dropped from top 4 to lower mid table and going backwards.
  19. think about it. we are basically in the same position as those other clubs regarding getting him to sign. we don't have to pay a transfer fee etc.
  20. Well, we could have gone for the cheaper Xisco ? Never mind, I realise you are secretly pleased with the huge progress we've made since soopa mike came in and showed us all how to bring top players to the club and attempt to get into the UEFA cup never mind the Champions League. You must be feeling at home now, having an owner who is happy with top league survival ? So long as you aren't "embarrassed" then luque wasn't as cheap as xisco.....we can play this game all night.
  21. I take it that you - and numerous others - are now prepared to accept that these so called despicable "trophy signings" are in fact the way to go, in view of the ridicule heaped on them in the past ? The desperation to keep a player who has previously carried this label would be funny if it weren't so tragic. Just a general comment like, and a sensible reply with an acceptance of the fact that you got it all wrong, would be in order. Fancy realising we need to keep our best players, and pay the going rate ? Whatever next, Ashley might realise similar calibre players alongside him would be even better, that is if it isn't too late to persuade Owen to sign for a club that he believes may have some sort of ambition and be worth extending for ? i reckon he'd shift out sharpish if souness, roeder or allardyce are appointed. he signed when Souness was boss ...boom boom ......... got me there. bet he wouldn't fall for it again. oh well, if we finish 7th - as we did under Roeder, a position matched only twice in almost 40 years before 1992 and the Halls and Shepherd, maybe he might. We willl have to wait and see. thats like a forest fan saying "win the league like we did under clough"....thats not where we were or the direction in which we were going and you know it.
