    Keegan on transfers

Actually you do have a fair point there. My dad is a prime example; he's a die-hard Newcastle fan but he's fairly old fashioned tbf. He occassionally reads the papers (and has an irritating habit of taking some press guff as gospel), and had been getting itchy feet - ranting and raving away at me for being so optimistic about player recruitment when we're "not actually doing anything". Keeping targets under wraps is a very good thing, but i suppose you could say we've been a bit too quiet. We seem to have lost a bit of club/fan communication since Mort left though, it has to be said. I've only ever seen one statement from this Llambias fella. the fan'club communication has been spot on......just it takes some getting used to after years of rumour, misinformation and inuendo. just put up a sign...2we'll conduct our business in private...when we sign a player who can play, we'll play him"
  2. he's much better than we've seen of enrique going forward.....enrique is much better at stopping the opposition. 1 more point, enrique is younger and is just getting used to this league, if we could afford taiwo then yes but i would still give enrique the strating spot.

at the same time, just cos we've got colo (if we have? ) don't get too carried away with keegans coments. he has an emotional gob and what he wants sometimes gets mixed up with what he believes. for the record i think at least one more "straight into the first 11 signing" any more would be nice.
  4. bit harsh on waddle... fantastic footballer but was always a bit thick.
  5. but he's unlikely to say "this is costing more than i thought and i'm out at the first decent offer" though is he ? No, and that's what NE5 will be thinking. I suppose it all comes down to whether you believe him or not. I do, and I'm not going to apologise for that. i'm more inclined to believe what he does than says and i'm quite happy with what he's done.........but more is required to make me very happy.

    Old New Third Kit

should be retired now.......go out on a high and all that.
  8. if i were being racist i'd have said he was offering cologne and other smelly stuff in the toilets of fleet street (printers pie)
  9. it could just be a family member of one of the players had the camera panned down you'd see him wearing a white pinnie, holding a tray with 3 empty glasses on it.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taye_Taiwo Taiwo has a powerful left-footed shot, which was clocked at over 130 km/h (close to 82 mph) on a free kick in the 2006 Coupe de France semi-final. Get him in, free-kick on his debut against ManU ala Robert. I would just love it! can he defend ? he is an erm...defender ?

that to me very much sounds like "we want to have a mass unveiling of talent"
  12. nah it's got more to do with kids watching highlghts of european games which onkly highlight on the goals and exciting bits which make big names out of players who turn it on for 2 mins but have been carried for the other 88. also i believe in footy manager type games a lot of players are marked down as ACM or DCM.
  13. The £15 is to watch the game and support the team, booing a player is for morons and is free of charge. fans have every right to do what they like, it's not right, but calling them morons, f***ing hell we wouldn't have any fan's left if you we're in charge when we pay their massive wages, then fan's have every right to boo etc, thats the fact football's a business and when ppl don't like what their paying for they are going 2 compain the bloke who sits behind me has every right to slag off jose enrique every week regardless wether he plays well or not. i have the right to tell him he knows fuck all !
  14. to give a little persrective, valencia's season doesn't start till august 31st.
  15. why not...and heres a novel, blue sky,out of the box type idea.....have two box to box midfielders, who do it all ? Sounds great in theory but they need to develop a very good understanding for that to work. You can't have two guys bombing forward all the time getting into the box, get it wrong and you'll empty out the midfield and get bummed on the break all day long. I'm all for having good all-round midfielders who can interchange and not be just restricted to one role, but I do believe it's beneficial to have one guy who is instinctively more likely to sit and one whose more inclined to get forward. as opposed to having a defensive midfielder sitting back all game and not taking opportunities to get forward. the game is now more about movement than anythiong else and some people are trying make subbuteo players out of flesh and blood. Some are I guess, others would just like us to see us sign a player who can actually dictate the play a bit, as it's something we desperately need if we're going 4-4-2. "Attacking midfielder" is just a general term for a center midfielder who can offer a bit of quality going forward, as far as I'm concerned anyway, and that's a type of player we don't actually have IMO. Personally hope we sign a forward and stick with the 4-3-3 myself, anyway. exactly. think people are just attacking a straw man when they criticise talk of 'attacking' or 'defensive' midfielders. but if he can offer that going forward aswell as strong defensivly why call him an "attacking midfielder" ?

any proof thast everton want him. booing our players aint going to help persuade others to come....fucking idiots we have as a sizeable minority of our fans

  22. I've been saying this for ages. i don't think you're the only one.
  23. In fairness to the c*** that sold him, Nobby did ask to move to London for family reasons. Wonder if they are moving to Greece with him? and some had the opinion he'd been treading water for 6 month towards the end of his first stay here.
