  1. looking for more than just "player x was shit for us"
  2. no it's not fucking well fair enough if it was barca or man utd. his club are obliged to pay him for the length of the contract even if he turns out to be shit......he should uphold his part aswell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. got convicted for drink dricing didn't he ?
  4. madras

    Keegan on transfers

i'd rather a rob lee than a riquelme.
  5. as pointed out in a different thread some had a grudge against solskjaer for being the odious little cyncical twat that he is. for me john aldridge was always in for all the bile i could muster. reason: ruffling brian laws hair and giving him a thumbs up afetr scoring an og in the fa cup semi then refusing to shake michael thomas's hand after that end of season title decider. yours ?
  6. You always give me hope Wullie because I think you bear as many nasty little grudges as I do - one thing I don't like about this place is there are too many nice football fans who no doubt "admire" Solskjaer - all I see is nasty little s*** who got away with murder twice against us. fresh thread in this doncha think ?
  7. can't see why he should be from officiating.
  8. Alot of people of said that but i really see no advantage to having a double unveiling. However, i fully expect us to be in for other players regardless of the Coloccini situation. Hopefully, Coloccini will be confirmed today, followed by someone next week. there is no advantage but it looks good.
  9. is the club trying to get another face in now and hoping to have a multiple unveiling ?
  10. duff, milner and gutierrez can all play left and right. duff has played off a front man before and it wouldn't surprise me if keegan has thoughts of trying milner behind a front 2. n'zogbia i still think can play left midfiled in a 3. what it gives is options and depth that we've been crying out for. duff has been one of the plusses of this pre-season. i hope he can keep it going and push on from it.
  11. SSN is reporting that keegan has said smith isn't going to everton and we haven't signed coloccini.
  12. could it have been terrence trent d'arby caught in some sort of time warp fom 1987
  13. I'm all for secrecy, but they're taking it too f***ing far! I'm surprised they're not making the new guys play in balaclava's they now get booked for covering theitr face
  14. explain further please Just saying what we have - it's really rare to see us put out a team without a striker, and maybe there's something in the stories. Isn't it rare for any club to put out a team that doesn't have a striker? we've done it in europe before. rob lee up front against monaco
  15. you ain't ever heard of ray clarke or billy raff have you boy ? (said in a kentuckian accent)
  16. Cheers. Perhaps I'm reading too much negativity into that article when I think it means we're not signing anyone else... think he just means they'll be at full strength with what we have ie everyone available. clearly say' about 2,maybe 3 new faces.
  17. after 115pages i don't think colo is a new face anymore.
  18. Your expectations of the recruitment team are so high to the point of delusion tbh. The fact that we've submitted bids for Modric, Arda and Aimar (and failed in all) tells you something doesn't it? We're after them but we can't attract them enough at the moment - we've been dogshite for a good few seasons now; we're almost officially off the map as things stand. I'm not being a doom-monger or serial pessimist by saying that, it's just the truth at the moment. I've got faith in Keegan to get us back into a position where we are attractive again, but at the moment - for one thing - nine other teams in the league have got Europe over us. You're forgetting one other thing too. Two of those players, two of our top targets..... where were they gonna be a few weeks after our approaches? Euro 2008. That tournament has f***ed us, and a lot of other teams, royally up the anus this summer. They weren't going to jump at the chance of joining Newcastle United right away, when they could wait, perform well at the Euros and join a much better side with better immediate prospects. However, like i say, i do have faith in the guys at the top to get us back up there and in contention for the best players soon. But that said, we are going to just keep slipping away if we're not even in with a shout for an Intertoto spot by the end of this season. We need top players in the coming seasons, and tbh, we need Europe if we're gonna get them. that's part of my point york, we should have had our targets sewn up before the tournament, all it does is inflate, egos and prices Did you read past that sentence though? The reasons for that is because the players wouldn't come when they would wait, play their heart out at the Euros, and get a better club after them. Any player with his head screwed on right would do that. Did a Premier Leauge club even sign a player before the Euros? modric....but to be honest there was very little business done before the tournament. i still think a lot will be done after the kick off aswell.
  19. he actually done a good bit better than most
