perhaps because they can make the payments? Re-financing loans means Liverpool cant afford the re-payments or want smaller ones. As we hadnt actually done that yet, does that mean we wouldnt have been allowed? Or that wasnt an option? Or whether it was needed at all? isn't everyone constantly tring to re-finance their loans for better deals ? Would that mean everyone is a 'house of cards' financially? We had a figure of £80m over the summer, now there is a figure of £150m, neither of which are anywhere near the size of the top 4. Then again our revenue isnt either but its all proportional. not if you can afford the present repayments Why are Liverpool re-financing then? And why couldnt we do the same, we have lower revenues but also had lower debt? so they can get a better deal or want to borrow more. we could do the same,we have done several times but like getting a mortgage or re-mortgaging you may be tied in as part of the contract of the deal or other lenders may think you are too much of a risk. We have not re-financed the stadium expansion loan as far as i am aware. You're just making assumptions anyway, the facts are that our debt is lower than any of the top 4. Its yet to demonstrated to me how these situations are different. Saying 'we cant afford the re-payments' is daft too. i didn't measn specifically the stadium loan but other aspects of our debt have been re-financed

Really? They're usually full of utter horrors. I've never seen a hen party, looked at the lass and thought "Lucky bloke." are you really saying girls that go on hen nights are horrors ? one of the most bizzarre quotes ever posted on here....................and that takes some doin Yep, almost without exception. I think it's probably that girls with a bit of class tend to go out in such a way that you don't know it's a hen night. Those who broadcast it with L plates, cowboy hats and t-shirts with "Shazza" or whatever on the back are usually rough as owt, aal orange skin and day-glow peroxide jobs. However my perspective on such matters may be skewed a bit from living in Whitley Bay, hardly a hen night venue of choice for the more descerning bride to be. nail.......head

By talking to them and telling them where to stand who is making runs etc. The keeper has a better view of the back four than anybody in the back 4. He can see where the space is he should be telling people to close the gaps etc. all the team should be talking like this. the keeper may have a better view but he's not someone you want to be the organiser (one of the back 4 needs to lead the line for offsides etc). Yes someone does need to lead the lines for offsides but thats not what I am talking about. Great defences have keepers with great communication and organisation. England is a prime example even with John Terry because Robbo is useless at organising they look like a midtable premiership defence and yes its also because of the midfield. I don't think its a coinicidence that our defence look more solid with Harper in goals. Anyway this is the way Sam thinks I've seen interviews with him in his Bolton days talking about this as I'm sure many have. not just for offsides. all the keeper can do is point out if a player is unmarked or not doing the job the team tactics dictate (which other players can point out aswell). i believe this "keepers organising "thing is a myth. given isn't silent, he does tell defenders if someone is unmarked etc. we have had a problem for years about the lack of communication throughout the whole team. do you really think the defence looked stronger with harper in goal, compare them fairly, say 2 away games, derby with harper or citeh with given ? to me neither was better than the other defensivly

http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,2483_2771236,00.html 3rd choice You rate Harper as a better keeper than Jaaskelainen? as good as. i've never particularly rated jaas that highly, like niemi a few years back when people were raving about him. That's fair enough. I think he's head and shoulders better than Harper from what I've seen of him, but there you go. All about opinions as they say. aye, as you say. it maybe as i've seen him mostly against us and he's never really stood out (sol at SJP syndrome)

i would, with him we have a very strong goalkeeping selection.

do you play who you consider your best player in that position or not drop someone cos they've done nothing wrong ? there is no correct answer. always makes me remember micky quinn, 2 goals V pompey, very nearly a hat trick, man of the match, dropped next game as gavin peacock was fit.

No I wouldn't rather have Stead you brought him into it, I just showed how Owen hasn't proven to have been any better for us than Stead was for Blackburn and how much they've cost per goal. I said at the time we bought Owen that we could have spent the money better instead of putting £17 million into an injury prone player. I also said at the time that we were crazy to bid £9 milion more than our nearest and only rivals to his signature, Liverpool who bid £8 million. what liverpool bid means little, the only price that matters is that at which madrid would be willing to sell. £17mill was probably high but not by the £9mill you say (if indeed it's true that liverpool bid £8mill or bid at all). why we bid that much was to stop madrid accepting offers that came nowhere near this. the argument about wether it could have been better spent is very much a one of hindsight.

what is "the sunday" ?

not to mention a formation that allowed petrov free reign and didn't play to our strengths Petrov is a brilliant outlet for them, with his pace. We haven't had this ourselves since Bellamy. we have that outlet in martins, what we need is midfielders who don't think cos he wears the no.9 shirt we should pump 40yd balls to his head.
