I would say his goals vs Bolton (overhead kick) and City were from balls where many strikers simply wouldn't have scored. i'll grant you the bolton one but the citeh goal,for all it showed good technique wasn't "amazing" or very special. he's quick,powerful with a canny eye for goal but i feel there is a myth about his "conjeuring" abilities.

i wonder if owen was ever the one to say "no,i'm not fit" when it came to NUFC. could it be more a difference between the medical staffs ? i have no problem with him saying he'd jump at the chance to play for england if the question was "will you be fit for england ?" he's always been bullish about playing for england,just as he's always bullish that he'll score goals wherever.he is also bullish about playing for NUFC but that is glossed over.

looking for reasons to have a go i'd say. for example the symantics of "i'll be fit for the next game" but doesn't add "if selected"....regardless of being selected or not what he says is correct.again about allardyce he is correct,a club manager can not pull a player out of the international set up if the medicos say he is fit. can't blame him about the cupped ear thing, iwas there and took the booing to be booing the decision to bring him on in favour of martins. the tv prog,no-one complained when david batty said he wasn't fussed about football when not on the pitch and just viewed it as a job.

2 years of Owen means 20 games and 9 goals if the last two are anything to go by, to be fair to him the last two years shouldn't be repeated but you never know. what if he plays the vast majority of games between now and the end of the season,plays well and gets a load of goals ? will you still think of the previous two seasons ?

Something dodgy is going on at Norwich like - they've sold all their assets for good money (not crazy money like some do, but decent) and they're still absolutely skint. just the fact that there is no money coming in, and players who have played in the Premiership want Premiership money have norwich got many players from the prem days still on their books ?

to clarify....i'm quite happy with viduks, but i think this is his last full (?) season in the top flight.

i'd have him as vidukas replacement,ready for next year.
