That's surprising to read. I actually thought he'd turn out to be one of the more astute signings made by anyone over the summer. when he signed everyone debated wether he'd play right back or right midfiled, not many assumed he'd play each game in the middle.
-
i wouldn't even say he's off form, not much he could do about the goals conceded, same goes for harper.

I disagree, I don't see a lot between the two keepers now that Harper has had a good run of games and has had time to settle in. They both have strengths and weakness's which make them too close to call as far as I'm concerned. Harper has had poor treatment over his place going back to Given for no reason other than that Given is fit. do you mean "for no reason other than the manager thinks he is the better keeper" ?

I'm like that, always think 'f****** hell I could have done better than that' when watching football, like when agahowa missed that header against Liverpool, I put a similar one away on saturday no bother for my team and just thought 'f****** hell he gets paid a ton for missing that, i would have stuck that away no botha.' I thought that, until I sat pitchside for the Palace game a couple of years ago and their fringe players came out for a knockabout. They were lightyears ahead of me with their control, skill and accuracy. Crystal Palace fringe players. We're no where near man aye,i consider(d) myself to be a decent footballer, then the best footballer i actually know played against boro's youth team and they got murdered, not tonnes of skill but slick pass and move, better technique and doing the simple stuff.

can we be sure it was HIS broken leg to begin with,he may well have nicked the broken leg off someone else, maybe he shot a young evertonian and thought by breaking his leg he'll make up fot it.

anyone know the score, how long barton, enrique or emre lasted ?
-
The Dyer deal falling through at that time didn't stop us from signing Alan Smith the same day. part of what i mean,we never really know what is going on,we,the fans, found out the dyer deal hit problems on 3rd august.
-
we never really know as sometimes talks have been ongoing for weeks and by the time we find out it seems like it's fresh news. i've as much reason to believe it as disbelieve it
-
let the league get used to him. he's impressed so far.the rest of the season will see if he's an arteta or a kinkladze.
-
Barton's likely to be out for 4-5 weeks. I can't see him being back for the Spurs game in 3 weeks. Emre really livened us up against Arsenal, I was very impressed with his link-up with Oba and N'Zogbia. He should be playing as the creative force in our midfield. i'm putting my marker down, unless he has a set back he'll play against spurs this month
-
barton should be ready for spurs so i'd play emre through the middle V everton.

Reserves beat Wigan 3-1; Barton scores and plays well
madras replied to ChrisJbarnes's topic in Football
we have 2 reserve games coming up (tomorrow and oct 8th) then a long gap till 25th,so i'm expecting him to play the first 2 then something behind closed doors then ready for spuds. -

so it seems like the only person who expected barton back this weekend was barton himself. -
not as much as is made out.more to do with a team of very good players who had a defensive plan running through the team, well drilled, organised and talented. I didn't ask that I simply asked was it beneficial? And yes obviously Man U where a highly talented well organised team. it's always beneficial to for a keeper to point out "get him,he's unmarked",shay does this aswell, you already know i feel keepers actually organising stuff (except defensive walls for free kicks) is a myth.at that time if anyone organised man utd's defence it was steve bruce.

perhaps because they can make the payments? Re-financing loans means Liverpool cant afford the re-payments or want smaller ones. As we hadnt actually done that yet, does that mean we wouldnt have been allowed? Or that wasnt an option? Or whether it was needed at all? isn't everyone constantly tring to re-finance their loans for better deals ? Would that mean everyone is a 'house of cards' financially? We had a figure of £80m over the summer, now there is a figure of £150m, neither of which are anywhere near the size of the top 4. Then again our revenue isnt either but its all proportional. not if you can afford the present repayments Why are Liverpool re-financing then? And why couldnt we do the same, we have lower revenues but also had lower debt? so they can get a better deal or want to borrow more. we could do the same,we have done several times but like getting a mortgage or re-mortgaging you may be tied in as part of the contract of the deal or other lenders may think you are too much of a risk. We have not re-financed the stadium expansion loan as far as i am aware. You're just making assumptions anyway, the facts are that our debt is lower than any of the top 4. Its yet to demonstrated to me how these situations are different. Saying 'we cant afford the re-payments' is daft too. i didn't measn specifically the stadium loan but other aspects of our debt have been re-financed
