It truly did. The players were clearly distracted, the commentators didn't really know what it was in aid of, Thierry Henry at the end said he didn't know what was going on, even the Liverpool fans on here don't really seem to know what it was in aid of. They sang "Justice for the '96" but from who and to what end? Some of the lads on here have said it was in protest about Kelvin Mackenzie getting a job at the BBC, but that doesn't seem to make any sense on any level. At the end of the day, all this "The Truth" and "Justice" stuff is going nowhere. They're not going to open up a new inquiry on the back of a protest at the match, no police officers who may have been at fault are going to be brought to task now and Mackenzie is a millionaire, whether he gets a job is neither here nor there to anyone. What happened was terrible, but going on about it now, seventeen years later, will solve nothing. For your information and for clarification; Today's protest was aimed at Kelvin Mackenzie, the man who continues to mantain that the proven lies (proven by a Judicial Government Enquiry) peddled by The Sun in 1989 are infact the truth. We know this to be a campaign by Mackenzie to delibrately spread misinformation and smear 96 of our dead friends for profitable gain, we are seeking justice and truth for the 96 Hillsborough dead. Sorry if this seems pointless, ridiculous or OTT to you , but it is a cause close to the heart of every liverpool supporter, as 12,000 people on the Kop showed you tonight. Like it or lump it geordies. i'll back your calls against mackenzie when liverpool fans admit their part. What part? If the Taylor Enquiry says that Liverpool fans were entirely blameless then why should we accept guilt for something that we are not guilty of? Just because a few misinformed gobshites tell you things about Hillsborough, doesn't mean that they are true. The spread of misinformation, as evidenced by people like yourself and others on here is precisely the reason this protest was necessary and precisely the reason why we won't just 'let it lie'. did liverpool fans attempt to entire the groung illegally ? did liverpool fans attempt to rush the gates when it seemed liked they'd miss the kick off ? don't get your keks in a knot,i'm not slagging off liverpool fans for this,as i've pointed out numerous times nufc came very close on a number of occasions..........no doubt lfc fans were queueing orderly afetr leaving the tea and scone shop at 2pm ?

probably ...doesn't mean it was a bad decision, the type of which is given every week.and who's to say had the keeper stayed on they couldn't have came back to make a fight of it.
-
am i alone in thinking (on replay) it shouldn't have even been a penalty, could have avoided the challange and was alrerady going down(not as contradictory as it sounds).i know this type of decision is always given but it's like when wright philips ran into robbie elliott, yes theres contact but the player could easily avoid it.so should it be awarded?

quote, then right click over the section in question so it highlights, then lsft click on the bold tab............unless it's one of my posts,in which case you can sod off.

i haven't read all this thread, contributed a bit but i don't think anyone says it was all the liverpool fans fault ,however liverpool fans don't want to admit they had a large part to play in it.i brought up that it could easily have been nufc fans at spurs, and i would have accepted criticism of a section of nufc fans.....LFC fans wont!
-
bugger..need a swap to get the day off for the replay!

may i just say, that having not read the previous pages......but "EVERY FUCKER IS AVAILABLE IF YOU WANT TO PAY"....thank ypu for reading.

not really, still very young and d'you think there'd be a shortage of takers if they were to leave.if anything it may have toughened them up a bit before going on to bigger things.

pickpoketing and urinating on injured fans........wouldn't be surprised about the pickpoketing, not because they are scousers, just in every crowd there are scum.
-
.....we have to admit we havent got a clue whats going on,we slag off the press for talking crap, then gorge on every word. is it beyond us adult persons to only comment on what we know,or worse, comment on what is as opposed to what the "sun" says. these transfer windows bring out the cynic in me.

come on,you must have been close to throwing yourselves on the fire when you lost the mighty sibierski ?

Because when the inquiry was held, they said they would refuse to look at anything which happened after 20 past three, as everyone who died was dead by then. However the mother of one of the 15 year olds, took out a private thing, and knows her son was still alive at 10 to four, but recieved no first aid and died. Its also for other things, in my opionion, if the game had been delayed for 30 minutes, no one wouldd have died, but the police took the decision to open one gate, and let everyone outside into one bit of the ground, even though this was already full, while the areas to the left and right were empty. The police officers in charge got no action took against them, and indeed most police officers got much much bigger payments for stress, than any of the injured or familys of the deceased got. So the protest is about money? No the protest is not about money i was just making a point, the protest is about noone has ever admitted they were wrong and said so. And been brought to account, because incase you have never realised the authorities in this country close ranks and shit on the working classes when they need to. That's because the Liverpool fans who were there drunk and without tickets, who by their actions outside the ground forced the Police to take the decision to open the gates, will never admit it was their fault. It's no coincidence that 2 massive incidents involved drunken, violent fans of the same football club. Absolutely. Nothing I've read on this thread or over the last 17 years sums it up better than that. As far as I'm concerned these arselicking do gooders on here coming out with phrases like "this thread sums up why Newcastle's support has gone downhill" and people lodged up scouse rectums like fuckin Gemmill, you can honestly suck my cock. It's a subject people have varying views on, non-entity fence sitters like the above mentioned sicken me more than people like Toon's Taylor and HTL who are giving sincere and frank views on a well documented subject. I know a lot of people still grieve the loss of their loved ones, as an 11 year old lad, it effected me very badly and that's honest. When you look at the situation though as a whole. Leeds took almost as many on Leppings Lane in 1987, we would've took more on The Kop in 1974, the difference is did we try and break the doors down? Why can police avoid make the decision to open the gates for Leeds but not Liverpool, think about that. The fact remains the police were a disgrace in a lot of what they did, the thick C***s who didn't shut the centre tunnel should be in jail for gross neglegance, and in effect manslaughter, but if there's no pissed C***s, no ticketless fans and orderly queues, the disaster doesn't happen, simple as that. You have to say the authorities have to take the lion share of the blame though. Heysel is another matter altogether, scummy fuckin twats. As for this JFT96, it's getting beyond pathetic this now. If it's not Hillsborough it's James Bulger which was a terrible tragedy, the next one will be this shocking case of the girl that killed by the pittbull, if it's not that it's f***ing laying wreaths for a dead chicken, I'll find the link somewhere. All of this Chelsea, Thatcher, the NF, Duckenfield's, Roma fans (they blame Roma for Heysel cos a few Liverpool fans got a kicking at the previous years European Cup Final - you really couldn't make that up), Tony Blair's fault etc............. None of it the scousers fault. My advice to anyone with a decent amount of money looking to open a profitable new business, is do a course in floral management, move to Merseyside and open a flower shop, you'll be able to retire by the time you're 45 nee bother. we did a very similar thing at spurs (5th round fa cup) ,not only ticketless fans but those with tickets trying to get in,there may even have been pay turnstiles at the lane but that is no excuse for the behaviour of a lot of toon fans that day,yes on both occasions the police fucked up but if it wasn't for the behaviour of the fans the police wouldn't have had to choose.pretty sure anyone who was at whire hart lane will back me up in being amazed the same result wasn't produced. have to agree with stevie and boris johnson about the scouse victim mentality, but stevie if you want gemmill to suck your cock, pm him!!

surely 11th least worst.....taken with a ton of salt mind, everton, birmingham, boston and spurs fans are happier according to that
-
what if the scouts are the best their is but the other club says "no we aren't selling" or "we want five times that ammount" reading some on here you'd think was so simple and that we get to know every bid and enquiry made.

not sure about the criticism of his runs,a lot of fast players make poor runs but use their pace to make up for it.it's not only down to himbut the rest of the team have to learn to play with him, something they most certainly didn't do early on,continuing to play as if shearer was still there.added with he hasn't really had a partner yet.
-
he looked naive whenhe first came but it seems he is getting stronger every game and is definitly more involved with link up play ,not afraid to try a snap shot but always looking to play someone else in.this hasn't paid off yet due to a mixture of his poor passing and when he's hit it right lack of speed or thought from our other players. very happy with his progress, but hoping that it is progress not a good run.
-
not so sure ,after SWP's experience, glen johnsons etc i think a lot of youngsters would look for where their best opportunity would be.even then bale is a possible for man u as they have never settled on evra, heinze or silvestre at left back.

not bloody well surprised,BCFC play in red and white and play at ashton gate!!!! anyway......the point is it's annoying that over the last 15 years or so the media have just ripped the name from others..i don't mind calling any team united if they are playing against a city or town...bet they wouldn't say "united on the attack" if it was us V's sheffield utd.this talk of they haven't got a proper nickname etc, well i'm sure they coped on motd when i were t'lad and they didnt call em unoyted then! :winking: As i said in my first post, I fully understand why it would be annoying for your fans, even if in another way it is understandable. I have to say, we're fortunate in being the only "Villa" but what I particularly like is being referred to as "the Villa". If we had to share a moniker with those Manc cnuts, it'd be hellish. is your "villa" the same as the "on the slide villa"......no doubt different teams with a similar name :winking: Sadly, yes. Although another name would be "the on the slide, yet still above the Toon despite being forced to field a team of players so young, they haven't actually had the umbilical chord snipped yet Villa" :winking: i'd send our kids against yours if social services wouldn't get involved. if we were flush i'd be e-mailing the club "get luke moore"..is he what i think or have i just seen good highlights ?
