We were a top 5 team with Hughes, OB1, Bramble and Bernard at the back. top 3 if you throw dabizas in there
-
why should a left back be on the post?it's a stupid idea that a player should do that just cos of the position he is playing..for example if the left back if 6'2 and great in the air,why stick him on the post?...in babayaros case it was to guard a particular area. this works both ways,we have been stupid enough when ramage or taylor were at full back to keep them on the half way line when we had corners instead of bringing others out and letting those go up,just because they were playing full back.

it's newcastle united united we are talking about, defeat to spurs, win at bolton, defeat to everton despite toffees being down to 9 men after 8mins,beat man utd 4-0 and ferguson admits they deserved to get beat.
-
agreed, also it will be interesting to watch emre when next alongside parker to see wether his recent is because of butt or a final coming to terms with the english game.
-
can we beat spurs? i remember thinking that last season then found out they were very dodgy away from home.much like this season.yes we can win,not a banker but we can.
-
probably already been commented on but his willingness, now he's a bit more used to the speed,to work and try to play others in.....just hope as he develops he is not totally a "confidence" player.

never was a truer word spoken gods a mackem btw. neatly explains the last 37 years and the actions of a good few bishops in one theory. spookily enough i recently saw on a mobile phone some mackems banging their bishops over a 16yr old
-
having watched it again given does go down a bit easy(not deliberatly)and arms were never raised,no shirt pulling in that area(ie keeper and foward),just jostling for position,no foul.
-
Have you seen Greek players :august31: last time i really saw some greek players they were wandering round a pitch in lisbon with a trophy
-
i think given tried to get a leg round and got held off and on the second point not the front post but on the angle of the 6yd box.
-
the watford player stood his ground, goal should stand for me. more to the corner, why is it we had a fantastic plan for near post corners in shearers day, anything in that area he cleared, now we don't even put anyone there?wasn't a skilful job just good tactics and positioning.

he "should " be honest about bellamy......."shit until the last couple of games" and about gillespie,"looks better with a traffic cone on his head"

to help, the moneys through the turnstiles and merchandise is becoming increasingly less of the clubs overall turnover and financial base Still, ultimately, whose money is it? Who pay the club all the money? Who buy the clubs' merchandise? Who pay to enter the stadium? Who watch the advertisements? Unless Shepherd's Newcastle United generate their vast majority of the revenue by say, earning prize money from football competition, by property development etc, when the club can survive without placating the fans, without fans' finanacial support ... ultimatly, the banks as the club owe money to the banks and nothing to us.

not something leaked by one of the buying parties to try and put an under pressure board under more pressure. "oh my a piece of nufc news, how can i look at this in a negative way with absolutly no evidence" bet you thought the rooney bid was a lie eh? Not looking at it in a negative way, i'm using common sense. Something which you lack, fuckwit. problem with common sense is it's not very common yet everyone thinks they have it. thanx for the name calling hurt me soooo much and wasn't witty. Never attempted to be witty, just honest. Don't know what you expected. You jumped on a completely innocent comment by me and read it completely out of context. I really can't see how what I said was negative, you care to explain? how's it a completly innocent comment.you suggest they are acting illegally(put that in print and they could sue),like many on here you appear to look for the negative.in what context did you mean it? How's it illegal for a 'source' at the club to tell a Journalist something in the hope they'll print it and drive the share price up hence getting more money for it. Stuff like that happens all the time. I really don't get how it's considered illegal. It's f***ing worked aswell as share prices went up by 8% this morning after this article was published. I wasn't using it in a negative context, it wasn't meant to be an attack on Freddy it was merely an outsider commenting on what he thought was going on. The Daily Mail *spits* is usually fairly spot on with it's sports coverage so they've obviously got wind of something happening. The fact they've quoted exact figures aswell leads me to believe they've been told something which later turned out to be bollocks. It's not in the intrests of any of the consortiums to tell the press shite like that so that leads me to believe it was someone from the club. i beleive it's illegal in that they would have agreed a deal like that without informing the stockmarket .opening themselves up to all sorts of legal problems like insider dealing.

If this is trully so, why does a club need fans at all !!!? to help, the moneys through the turnstiles and merchandise is becoming increasingly less of the clubs overall turnover and financial base

why should we expect them to dig into their own pockets, don't see david dein doing much of that or martin edwards before selling out. truth is some fools on here just want fat fred out regardless of who or what comes in.....i've no problem with him being ousted but i want to know what any takeover leaves us with. i struggle to understand the reasoning of the anyone but fred campaign..............as i've said before "be careful what you wish for" .i remember people thinking the same about the pirate westwood but look what happened then. No one here expects Shepherd to dig into his own pocket. And Shepherd has never done so. But he keeps bragging about him backing his manager with money. The money is not his, it is ours. Disgusting how Shepherd acts as if he is the saviour and patron of the club. Which premiership club has not backed their managers? Even Doug Ellis backs their manager, when Villa's revenue is not as high as Newcastle United! not even ours but mostly the banks

you can use it, if you like. I was just wondering why? if it's not a conscious decision then don't worry about it. does that mean he should worry about it if it was a conscious decision ?

I'd go with the complete opposite of that TBH. I would start Emre with Butt as they've both looked different players without Parker. I'd also start Sibbers with Martins to further develop their partnership and leave Dyer on the bench becuase he's the only person capable of really changing a game in the last 35 minutes if we need to chase the win AND he's hardly the most reliable person to play against a big, physical Watford side scrapping for points. Duff will start if fit. 2nd that not sure about that, bearing in mind how long duffs been out i reckon he'll go dyer on the right and milner left if sibbs is fit(ie no need for dter to play up front) You might be right - I would have thought he would want a naturallt left sided/footed player on the wing that was my theory. I suppose it depends on how fit Duff is. i know what you're getting at but milner has played on the left a good few times and maybe better to ease duff back in if we can with him being out so long.
