  1. Are they hell. Linking the club's incoming funds with Ashley's buyout, definitely. But there's a clear and obvious link between the club's lack of spending and Ashley's investment elsewhere. Got to disagree. It's his desire to reach the aim (staying in the prem while spending as little as possible). Do you really think if the HoF deal wasn't in the offing NUFC would have spent more ?
  2. People linking the House of Fraser buyout to our lack of transfer spend are making us look a bit thick.

Quite apart from how small time it is for a rival club's official to go on like this, when Ossie was our manager, season tickets were only available in the two seated stands and the Milburn paddock, combined capacity of about 12,000. We only had 4000 season ticket holders back in those days. I used to have one in the East Stand Paddocks under the boxes. some sort of obsession to know how many season tickets a club you have no interest in had twenty years ago. Wonder if he compared it with his new club back then ?
  4. Could easily read "Poor player, don't want, couldn't afford him"
  5. Would you like to ride a unicycle to John O'Groats or a Shetland Pony... Is there a third option? Where from ?
  6. That's what I'm thinking, nowadays a cruciate can be week's?
  7. We'll that's more than I thought we'd get, if true . Obviously now other clubs wil now know we are loaded.

Know very little about him. Any guesses on his value if he hadn't had a clause ?
  9. Don't get your feelings like ? Are you saying he's crap but other crappers have got away with it before ?
  10. Really, when I watched him in the world cup he was constantly giving the ball away in easy situations.
  11. I don't see it. Good if the balls lumped up, doesn't seem great on the deck with or without the ball, and doesn't seem extra special at reading the game.

Brighton were supposed to be interested, any idea of a price?
  13. So all in all I'd quite like him to go to Man Utd for that sort of money.

Maybe like anyone he just wants to do his own thing in his own time? Seriously ? HE said it as a joke ,no ?
  15. Macguire is a bog standard prem centre half to me.
  16. Do they? Defence was hardly what they struggled with last season. Because their were regularly 9 of them.
  17. This is where I'm lost with Ashley. Moderate investment right now could well make us more than worth what he says wants AND worth more than what he'd lose in free advertising. I wonder if he watches "Moneyball" whenevr he gets the chance and just constantly thinks we can do that and be qorth even more.

I reckon we could create a better XI from the Ashley era alone.
  19. £9mill transfer fee. Then wages, agents fee, signing on fee, flowers for his Mrs, the cost of getting his name put on his tops all mounts up.

Quick, take that first 'e' out of Beardsley before someone has a funny turn. That 11 as a best ever ( though I'd guess it's someone's best that they've seen no Shackleton etc) is laughable.
  21. Sels Is going for a reported £3.5mill. Over a probable 4 years that gives Rafa an extra Million or close to. The worry for us is what Messi will be like through a north east winter.
  22. Wonder if there's a gagging clause in Rafa's contract ? I'd love him just to come clean on what's going on.

Seems fair enough to me if the player has made the choice not to come back. It's in the wording I suppose, is it asked not to come back or said he's not coming back ?

Pretty much how I see it.
