  1. Yeah but if Leicester can win the league then surely Swansea can ?
  2. Assuming we don't f*** up we'll find out next summer. We've already got the Sissoko money waiting to spent you'd hope. Even without anything we've got close to securing medicrity due to the s**** league/managers within. How d'you work that out ? Because we were at around net ins/outs before we sold him unless you're referring to the typo. I don't think it quite works that way.

  4. I loved that to be honest shows how much he wanted to score. We need players with that passion He'd been the regular pen taker when he plays. Maybe it just wasn't made clear who would take it before the game.
  5. madras still is. Rafa's getting it all wrong He did in the opening games, the middle 2 were far too deep and I'd still say we'd have scored even more with Gayle, Perez or Diame off a target man. We have the biggest and best squad in this division and I don't buy the idea that teams will come here viewing it as their cup final and find play better than normal, rather they'll already be beaten in their minds like we have been so many times at Old Trafford, Highbury, anfield etc.

The player is in the keepers line of sight and does make a movement for the ball. Just the fact that he's onside weakens their case a bit.
  8. It's not as simple as that though is it? Rafa likes Diame away from home if Gayle is the one up front to his size and how he works off the ball. I think we'll continue to see Perez at home for Diame away in that position for a while. Perez will probably only play that position away from home if Mitro is up top (like as QPR). This. Perez drifts out of the games far too much for my liking, yesterday 2 goals and an assist but I didn't notice him too much in the game. It's almost as if whoever plays that role looks poor when Gayle plays up top alone.
  9. Hows that? The West Ham player who was offside was at the other side of the box and not in front of the keeper. The West Ham player blocking the keepers view was in line with the Sunderland defence. Well as I've already said, I've had a few, but on the sideways on view looked to me that the player who let the ball through his legs to deceive the keeper had at least a foot the wrong side of the six yard line. Not when the shot was taken.
  10. Ryan Taylor scored for Port Vale today.
  11. The only thing I can think of was the ref wasn't 100% sure the keeper hadn't got a touch and knew he'd have to red card him if he gave it. Reckon he'd have gave it if he could give a pen and leave it 11 V 11. Think the rules changed this year so he wouldn't have even needed to give him a red card if it was a genuine attempt to get the ball, which I think it was. Would've been raging if the game was 0-0 at that point Didn't know that about the rule change, judging by the refereeing so far this season I'd be surprised if the ref did either!

  13. Happy that that wasn't the only result to let down todays accy (Arsenal). I was going to do a "Geordie" bet of £10 double, us to win mackems to lose from the start of the season,. Wonder how that would have been doing so far ?
  14. Ipswich..We voted them the plainest town with the plainest beer and plainest women (3-2 defeat the season we nearly went down, peacock 2), it was a dull town, likeable though, no snideyness, no spite and they know their stuff football wise. If I weren't a Geordie it's the type of place that wouldn't be so bad football wise, again.
  15. bradford doen me on one bet but up overall. Was talking betting today and apparently "the geordie" is making a re-emergence, Newcastle to win, mackems to lose, now it's a bet I've had a few times in the past, one of their record breaking years it paid for me to go on a stag doo to Ibiza but I never knew it had a name.
  16. Largely a myth perpetrated by the press during his time at LFC. Over a season, he doesn't rotate any more than many other managers. Went 99 games before naming the same 11 according to the press ?
  17. Aye, dink over the GK who's coming out. It reminded me of Ginola to Asprilla vs Liverpool in the second 4-3. Good, comparison. Aye but nah. Asprillas finish was further out and a work of geometry.
  18. Doesn't need to be 4-4-2, Could be Gayle off Mitrovic or Murphy. FWIW I think when Murphy is fully fit and fully intergrated I think that's what we'll do, call it 4-4-1-1 0r 4-2-3-1 whichever you want. So move Gayle out of position when he's playing so well in his current position? Doesn't make much sense to me. Look at the space afforded to Perez at QPR, Look at the chaos in the Norwich defence when Mitrovic came on, personally I think Gayle could benefit from it, especially looking forward to next season should we get promoted as he'll not be in that role.
  19. This is embarrassing. It's not your mother. Breathe... He made his mother change her name to Rafa.

  21. Can still watch that over and over, giggle and wonder wtf was going on.

They didn't seem to have a thread for tonights games, even with Champs league on. Weird when they normally have "Tonights games" threads when we have friendlies, wonder why that is ?
  23. Well done, another win and we will storm this division. (Still think we could make it easier for ourselves ) Edit...that didn't mean we need another to storm this division.
