  1. Some are going on about the membership cost not being factored into the price freeze now, as if the club is going to knock it up to £200 in a few years time and milk the fans
  2. Yes, because we're paying for the ten years up front
  3. I thought they'd go down the "ah, so Ashley is their MESSIAH again is he?" but no. Just bad mathematics.
  4. I was wondering how long it'd take before they got hold of that.
  5. Was at both of them, the Peterboro game was mental, health and safety would have had a field day if anything bad happened, the away end was crammed! When Joey's free kick went in I remember having to support the weight of some fat fucker to stop my little sister getting crushed Peterborough was enjoyable, although I hated the lack of drink in the ground When Barton scored I ended up about 10 feet to the right of where I was originally standing, which was quite an experience for someone who can't remember the halcyon days of the 1980s. Before the match we ended up in this nightclub more or less attached to London Road called Metro to watch the Man United/Cheslea match. It was a fucking hovel and the bar staff were useless. The actual bar was made out of wood and badly screwed into the ground, it was buckling under the weight of fans queueing to get a pint. We nearly missed the train on the way back too as one of the lads ended up ordering a fucking curry from this ropey take out place and it took pissing ages to make. We had to drunkenly run across a busy dual carriage way to get to the station on time. He was sitting on the platform stuffing pakoras in his gob while an endless line of pissed NUFC fans asked him enviously where he'd sourced his bounty of fast food from
  6. Huge difference between showing your support for your team 3pm to 5pm at St James' Park every other Saturday and showing your support for your team on a Wednesday afternoon around Sainsbury's. what's the huge difference? what are you doing posting on an nufc forum when its not a match day? Making sure nee cunt is thinking of wearing their replica shirts, obviously.

  8. Nee wonder they're struggling http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/04/27/nufc-season-ticket-sales-hit-a-five-year-high-72703-28591418/
  9. I've seen it happen first hand. Met a lovely Mackem couple on holiday, no chips on their shoulders, we went to a bar with them and the barman asked where we were from and they said Sunderland. He didn't have a fucking clue. They saw the funny side but I imagine thousands would've drawn the poor cunt a map
  10. Holidays must be torture for any self respecting Mackem. They have to leave from an airport named Newcastle, suffix every explanation of where they come from with "...y'know, near Newcastle" and force a grin as the eyes of their Greek bartender light up and he cries "Ah, Newcastle! Geordies! Alan Shearer! Nikos Dabizas! Whey aye, man!"
  11. This stereotype of Geordies always wearing their replica shirts doesn't make any sense to me. I live in Washington and consequently spend more time than I'd like to admit in the Galleries (our hellhole of a shopping centre for this who aren't familiar with the place). During the decent weather last week you couldn't get moved in there for Sunderland tops of all shapes, sizes and ages. This wasn't a one off either - every year during the summer the Sunderland shirts come out of the waldrobe...well, except when they were getting relegated on record low points totals then it was England shirts. Washington is more or less 50/50 and you do see quite a lot of Newcastle shirts too but they are outnumbered by men, women, lads and lasses in Sunderland gear. It's this bizarre bit of misplaced snobbishness that has always confused me deeply. It's rooted in little actual evidence but the notion that you need to surgically remove replica shirts from Newcastle United supporters while Sunderland fans swan around in the latest Gucci gear is embedded.
  12. In complete contradiction to my post in the worst away ground thread I have to say Everton this season Don't get me wrong, I haven't changed my mind. The area around the ground is awful but the trip there, the result, the performance, the goal by HBA and the piss up on the trip back made for a magnificent day out.

  14. The area around Goodison Park is an absolute fucking dive. Every cunt was in trackie bottoms and the pubs had bars on the windows. We were in a bar called The Brick and in one hour three people came in trying to flog us stuff - two lads with knock off DVDs and one pisshead with a gold chain he was desperate to get rid of. We had to gan to the cash machine too and I've never been so sure I was going to get stabbed in my life It's a shame as Goodison is a nice old ground. The Reebok is wank. Sterile, flat pack and in the middle of fucking no where. Didn't help we got hammered, like. I hate London Road too, although the lack of drink on sale probably had a lot to do with that. I don't want to sound arrogant but away days to Newcastle must be fucking brilliant. Great stadium, loads of bars within spitting distance, friendly natives etc. Nee wonder everyone was glad we got promotion back to the top flight
  15. If you're going to have a wank in the dugout you've got to a bit of expect abuse.
  16. I do enjoy a bit of craic with the opposition, but I can only cope with so many versus of "your support is fucking shit", "shall we sing a song for you","where'd you park your minibus" etc. The paedophile stuff is purile but it makes a change and can be quite amusing when done properly and not just shouted constantly for 90 minutes. Race and sexuality are beyond the pale IMO. I could probably justify anything else once I'm on the terraces.
  17. I heard a fantastic hybrid of the two last season, which basically involved replace Adebayor's name with Kenwyne Jones. Truth be told the song itself wasn't fantastic, but the bloke who shouted at the charva spackers who had started singing it was. "We're you taught nowt in school? He's from Trinidad, man. They don't fucking have elephants over there you stupid cunts!"
  18. While we need to improve we also need depth. Personally I dont think Larsson is any better than Barton but he's a better option than Ryan Taylor. Elmander is another one we should be looking to bring in - not an out and out goalscorer but a classy player who is better than what we have. Isn't Elmander leaving because he wants more money? He'll not get it here. Nee idea. I don't actually know anything about what's going on in the world of football, I just come on here and use the odd big word and make it sound like I know what I'm talking about.

  20. He also got pulled over and had £25,000 of notes sitting in the passenger seat Wasn't his response when the police asked him why he had that much money on him "because I'm rich"
  21. No suggestion that we need the cash as far as I know of. Unless someone offers stupid money for him then he will stay, the whole purpose of an academy is to develop young players so that you don't have to go out and spend stupid amounts on buying players every summer, selling him for say £15m wouldn't make much sense as we would still need to replace him. Yes I know Newcastle sold Carroll who come through your academy but let's be honest, you can't turn that sort of cash, just a shame that you spent years and years developing him and then bang he is gone but that's football I suppose. Academies are money making machines as well as places for clubs to produce the stars of the future. Fact of life and there's nothing much you can do about it. It's always sad when you get rid of a local lad but if you can get a few million pounds for an asset you've spent no money on then it's a good deal. In all seriousness Henderson is potentially a very good player. He's been built up by the media because he's young and English, the same happened to Carroll. Sunderland would do very well to get around £20 million for him and I expect they'll get a bid in that region over the next year or two from a City or a Chelsea.
  22. One good game and he's worth £15 million again? According to the SMB he'd been so dire over recent weeks you wouldn't be able to give him away.
  23. 1-0 to us. Enrique gets the ball dances past half a dozen players before entering the box and finishing off his mazy run by slotting it under Reina. He celebrates by removing his shirt to reveal a vest which says "Fuck off Phil Thompson" and runs over to the dugout where he signs a new 7 year deal before high fiving Pardew and getting a bear hug off Kuqi. N-O goes into meltdown because the body language experts on here adjudge his high five to be lacking in "radness", a sure sign he wants away.
  24. The truth is somewhere in between what we've been told. Carroll had just signed a new five year deal and could've told the club to fuck off if he didn't want to go but then at the same time Ashley & co would've let it be known they wanted the £35 million. Both benefited from the deal at the end of the day. I've nowt against him like. I hope he goes on to have a fantastic career and scores loads of goals, none of them against us.
