The crap players under Pardew are still largely here only slower and older and crappier and probably more disillusioned with the club. McClaren was going to be a slight upgrade at best. I don't know how we test that theory. But, comments-about-the-club/hba-as-reason-for-hate aside, I still think he could have gotten more from the side - in terms of both performances and playing - than the dismal shite on display we had after that fucking miracle 5th.

He did leave for a team that where in the bottom 3 like, I don't think he was loving it.
