They have a decent run coming up, they haven't lost in 5. They seem to be playing Villa and Fulham at the right time. 6 points from that is a must for them.
Also love how it was always a given we would beat them, now its a given they will beat us.
Lets be honest though, Mackay isn't going to cut it long term as a Premiership manager. He's in the Hughton bracket, nice guy and done well at a troubled club in the Championship, but he's out of his depth at this level.
In all honesty they have lost a lot of coin flips. They have only been heavily beaten once under Poyet, and that was his first game. I think defensively they are pretty decent, they just can't score. Adam Johnson or Giaccerini are due a flash of brilliance. If they can't beat Cardiff then I think it is game over for them. but even if they draw they will still be 3 points from safety in all likely hood, going into a home game against a poor Villa team.
They also have 2 winnable games against Cardiff and Villa. Cardiff are probably the worst team in the league. I know Sunderland are bad, but IMO if you cant beat Cardiff with all their on the pitch and off the pitch problems, you might as well quit now. Glad Brown is out for that one.
It's truly extraordinary that he's still getting a game in the top flight. Even when he's been in the Championship, his goal return has been p*ss poor other than one season with Cardiff when it was alright, seven years ago.
When you think of the number of players who have scored hatfuls in the Football League and never got a top-flight look in, it's absolutely f***ing mental.
Blame the shitcunt managers who keep signing him because he's fast and strong.
