Aside from last season, our midfield has consistently been over ran. Even in the Robson days Speed and Jenas just getting ruined most games.

The domino affect of this injury could be massive.

It’s too much, the standard of football now is suffering because of it there’s barely any games now where it’s a good game with both teams in top form. Usually one team is ruined with injuries or is knackered from playing a million games. Brentford are bang average but they are well organised and a very fit team, just focussing on the league if 9 teams weren’t in Europe no way would they be where they are.

No excuse to botch this even if we miss out on our number 1 target for going to Chelsea. These signings should be done in June, striking before other teams get a chance.

For me we need to change how we play to suit him and I don’t think it’s worth the effort. Change the entire team style just to suit some bloke who might not even be that good anyway.

The Joelinton transformation is pretty unique, the man was an absolute athlete. Howe improved his off ball stuff a lot no doubt, but technically he has always been limited, I dont think thats transferable to Nick.

I think we need someone who can play more progressive football and not rely on athleticism. I dont think that works when playing every 3 days unless you have a massive squad or have special inhalers.

I don’t think Howe is the long term solution but I think we need him to steady the ship for another year until we actually have people who can do their job running the club.
