I know we're all moaning about Marriner today but in general the lack of respect towards officials in football (particularly at the top level) is a massive problem with the game. Including trying to con and influence them at every opportunity, instead of just accepting the decision. Rooney's behavior a week ago was a disgrace, no idea how the refs just let it go without a word being said. They don't, Gini was booked for it. The two words that he said to the ref... worthy of a yellow. Not like Arsenal though, that's different. Wasn't a clear post but meant that Rooney never gets punished when he does that. Such a great role model for the kids as the face of the English football.

Giroud/Walcott/Sanchez or any other cunt doing that in the 15th minute of the game would never ever get a red for that.

I was just about to post that. What an unbelievable season that was until the wheels came off when Bellamy got injured. A few years of s**** under Dalglish and Gullit and then a rebuilding process for a couple under SBR. I don't think anyone expected the transformation in the 01-02 season. I had to leave a boozer in Coventry when the 3rd went in at Highbury, thought I was having a heart attack. That game wasn't on the telly here but I remember following it live on local Ceefax and losing it when Robert's name popped up. Then after the game spent ages looking at the league table waiting for it to get updated.
