Totally agree, suspect DNA. More solid Geordies like Taylor and Wor Jack and we'll be alright. Good point. I was actually thinking more Andriy Yarmolenko I never trust in a Ukrainian in this league after this farce. Might be something in their DNA too. http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01428/shevchenko_1428354c.jpg

First thing I had on my mind after seeing the title was Bellamy vs Feyenoord.

Your evidence shows that your statement of him never playing RB is simply bullshit.

Have to think it's gonna be Mbemba-Taylor-Coloccini-Haidara. Taylor will play RB. Another option would be to drop Dummett at LB and see if Haidara can shift over to the right. My bet though would be Taylor at RB. I can absolutely see the logic here based on today.

He's going to get red cards regardless of reputation. I think the only thing saving him again today is that there's so little time left. Start him and he'd be off by 20 mins. He's been fouled twice today and somehow he got talked to. He jumped in to the challenge and landed with his studs on the guys feet ffs And that tells you enough about him that he gets talked to when fouled. It's not reputation, its behaviour. Needs to get a grip and fast. He put his leg to the ground ffs. You honestly think Taylor is up instantly if Mitrovic stamped his shin?

Mitrovic already getting targeted by commentators and refs. He's going to get few extremely soft red cards in the future just for his reputation.

Have been in and out, where's Mbemba?

Everyone knows and have known for years Give over, man. Check the Colo thread the days following his contract extension. It was like half the place had been sniffing glue. Eh? People saying he's the best of a bad bunch means everyone is happy with our CB's?
-
I mean he's been 'first choice' before, but it's a season opener where he is the clear LB1 and he's trying to prove that we don't need another LB. Can't see how it's absurd that someone would be nervous. He's also a member here and everyone was calling for a new LB, obviously he was nervous.

I'm fine with taking shit from the Ron but not Flip. Go away.

It's definitely too early to write off Haidara after that last game. He looked nervous which is understandable as that was basically his first game for us as a first choice player and he didn't get any help from Obertan. Tadic is good and he even seemed to be closing down Haidara immediately when he had the ball. I'm sure he'll be better both offensively and defensively when he has a better player ahead of him to link with.

This thread has been a train wreck. We have De Jong, Perez, Cabella and Sissoko who could play at the position Wijnaldum took yesterday. So people would rather have those five of our most talented players fight for that one position and have two of Colback, Anita and unfit Tiote below them? And I do realise Sissoko and Perez can play on the wing too but there's competition for those places too. It's a non-brainer decision even if it would take something out of Wijnaldum's game (which I highly doubt would be the case).

If a player's best ability is that he tries hard, he isn't very good. Simple.
-
Partly at fault for a goal and kicking poor throughout equates to excellence now? Not excellent but definitely better than most of his performances last season.
-
Love it when professional footballers get praised for putting a shift in.
-
That'd be ace to know if we were a running club and not a football club.
-
Well it clearly did as we never invited pressure like that when he was on the pitch and as soon as he goes off we are magically allowing Southampton to pass around our box and sitting very deep. Not a coincidence. Attacking players tiring is usually a recipe for inviting pressure, no?
-
Even if Anita could play I would do this. Wijnaldum is so much better than our other CMs and the AM is like the only spot where we have many good options. Don't think it would limit his game too much either.
-
Tiote was obviously massively unfit but I still think the attacking players tiring was a bigger reason for it. De Jong is just so different to Wijnaldum and that sub wasn't the right one for this match. Badly needed Ayoze or Aarons there in the end when everyone else was tired, not the static De Jong.
