  1. Not sure what you mean. Viduka flicked it to Smith before he was fouled, that's right.
  2. This might explain a few things as to how the big man views the players... No wonder Viduka's on the bench if Sam thought he was the playing s*** as a right midfielder. Thought someone would comment this... Seems I'm the only one who thought it was funny.
  3. It was a great result but let's not pretend it was somehow a good performance. Both sides were diabolical and if we'd lost it, we could have had no complaints, same as Fulham can't. If me and Alex could see that blind drunk then surely everyone else can too.
  4. I think Coach HTT & Wacko hit it right on the nose....English players and coaches spend very little time playing or coaching in other countries, which greatly reduces their ability to adapt new tactitcal schemes and training methods. Aside from Owen, Beckham, & McManaman at Real Madrid and Owen Hargreaves at Bayern Munich, no top Engilsh players have been successful outside of England since Platt & Gazza played in Italy. Indeed. Hargreaves doesn't count either.
  5. Cech and Van der Sar. Where's the planks who love to tell us how shit Shay is in comparison to these world class keepers? Good as he is, Cech makes far too many big ricks imo. VdS is the same keeper who played for Fulham, just got a million times better when he put a red (well you know what I mean) shirt on.
  6. Martins isn't playing up front btw. If he's not doing the right things on the wing... that's because he's not a winger. It's also very difficult for him and Milner to create for a striker who cannot and will not be created for. If people think Martins is not good at getting into goalscoring positions, then God knows what their thoughts are on Alan Smith. All the games he's been up front for us, I don't think he's had a sodding shot yet.
  7. Or if Jenas hadn't missed an open goal at Boro about two minutes before they equalised. Or if the officials had been halfway competent and seen that equaliser was scored with a hand. Or if Shay hadn't made a totally uncharacteristic error to let Norwich back into the game at SJP. Or if we'd put away one of the shedful of chances we had against Spurs. That's without mentioning the Dyer shit. We had an incredible amount of bad luck in those four games, which was what made it even more sickening when the fat mong started mashing the panic button. I don't think we can say those games were the reason he got the sack, if we'd have won those games it would have just been delaying the inevitable, the team we had that season would have come 5th at highest and we all know what Shepherd thought of that position the previous season. At that stage after a succession of successful years i think the board began to take our success for granted and didn't actually respect what Robson had actually done, if your going to sack someone with the caliber of Bobby then you need a damn well good replacement if your going to continue never mind progress on to the next level, we didn't do that, we got someone in who wasn't capable of repeating or even coming close to half the job the legend had done just years before. Which bit don't you understand? The wrong thread bit.

  10. Indeed. And it's mind-bogglingly pathetic.
  11. Hitzfeld was interested? Are you having a giraffe?
  12. We were definitely on the slide. 5th or not, that last season was poor. It was only thanks to the form of Laurent Robert over the time leading up to Christmas that we finished where we did. As has been said a million times, the timing and the replacement were abysmal, not to mention the unnecessary humiliation of a great man.
  13. Fucking hell. That's reading a little too much into a glance, not even close! Well, from the main forum index (latest posts), I just saw SBR and "has suffered"! Don't judge me!
  14. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=47813.msg1105978#msg1105978  With my first glance at the title, I thought it was going to say "SBR has suffered a stroke" or something.
  15. £8m would go a long way to making up for what we paid. I think any club would be mad to take the risk we did on him. Fingers crossed.

How do you figure that one out? Because my opinion on the matter differs from the norm? Yeah, grats on that one. Why should I (or any of us) care about this anyways? The blokes getting shipped out and thats that. Nothing we say or do here on this board is going to change any of that ffs. Stop trying to be heroes. That's a lame argument - you shouldn't care about stuff you can't do anything about? I'm just saying don't try and shit on other people's opinons and call them all sorts of names under the sun because they have an opinion. Fail to see how "prat" is "all sorts of names under the sun". I couldn't give a toss if your opinion differs from the "norm", whatever that is. It was just a pretty stupid thing to say imo. Long as you're alright though, Jack?

Back it up is what I meant, but it was a bit of a sly dig, sorry. Here's the Boothroyd quote, by the way: Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2007/12/12/sfnwat112.xml The highlighted bit is what I was commenting on. Fair enough. As I said, there is somewhat of an argument to be made for Boothroyd's comment, as well as against. He's not making it very well though, but then he's probably pretty angry about one of his players being deported, both as a person and a manager.

What did you note I hadn't done Indi? State my opinion? I thought I had tbh. Course there's no hard feelings mate.

Do you have a link for this 'detective system'? Sounds like bollocks to me. If France gives them accomodation and we treat them like shit, why don't they stay in France, Indi? Isn't the official rule that they are to stay and claim asylum in the first safe country they reach? Unless they're bloody good swimmers, that ain't jolly old England. I never said that clearly hyperbolic and hypothetical situation was the reality. I think you wish it was though. I'd also like to see these comments from Aidy Boothroyd that suggest he's saying that everyone but footballers should be thrown out. I reckon that's bollocks too. From what I've seen Boothroyd say, it's nothing of the sort. He's talking about his player, what else should he talk about? If no-one said anything of the sort that you're arguing against, it leaves me to wonder why you got so aggravated about it in the first place. RP was clearly just being a prat, but you defended him on the basis that everyone else apparently thinks that way.
