  1. When I ran my eyes down the Championship table, I thought about putting loads of clubs in ahead of Coventry, despite the fact they were in the first division for fucking ages. Don't think of them as a big club at all these days, deserved to be in the list though.
  2. I've been saying the same all week. Both absolute garbage at SJP.
  3. Bolton are nothing like Wigan, they've won the fa cup four times for one thing and crucially as far as thisdiscussion matters they've got the 13th best record in top flight football which is a better record than the likes of Leeds, Blackburn, Forest, West Ham etc. they've also been in and around the premiership for 12 years, unlike wigan. All fair points. Part of my criteria for what makes a tinpot nationwide club is the matchday experience and Bolton tick every box in the "circus" category, that's my main reason. No club with cheerleaders should be in the Premiership. I'd make that an official rule btw. not a bad suggestion. the one club i totally forgot about was Southampton who had always been in the premiership since i started following football. i think it is cos they've moved to a souless out-of-town identikit stadium, the kind of thing i associate with tinpot clubs in the championship. were they still at the Dell i think i would've more readily placed them as a top flight side. Aye that's why my mate put 'only at the Dell' as a criteria. I had also completely forgotten about them until he read his out, then I had to do a quick edit.

  5. Norwich competed for the title in '93 tbf. They fell away in the last few weeks but were top for a long time.
  6. I thought about Birmingham, even though they've only been in the top flight for a couple of seasons in my lifetime, I still consider them a big club for some reason. Bolton to me, along with Wigan, are the epitome of a club that is not top flight material in any shape or form. They'll have to win it before I think about putting them in.
  7. I've revised my list about three times, it's hard once you've got the core 12-15. I was mulling over Leicester, Charlton, Ipswich and Derby.
  8. My list: Newcastle Man Utd Arsenal Aston Villa Blackburn Chelsea Man Utd Man City Leeds Sheff Wed Notts Forest Tottenham Everton sunderland Boro Liverpool West Ham Sheff Utd Coventry Southampton Norwich (Wimbledon - NOT MK Dons) (QPR) The latter two are included because it used to be 22, and because we had a hard time cutting the bottom ones down. My Smoggie mate's list: Man Utd Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Everton Spurs Blackburn Villa Newcastle Man City Middlesbrough West Ham Leeds Sheff Wed Southampton (note: only at the Dell) Notts Forest Wimbledon (note: NOT MK Dons) Coventry Sheff Utd sunderland (QPR) (Swindon - included because they were his second Premiership team when he started following football because he liked the shitty badge, the tit )
  9. When SJH banned the mackems at our place in response to Murray doing the same earlier in the season, there was a mackem jumped up and started celebrating behind us when Michael Gray scored. He was lucky he was near the end of the row because I think he'd probably have left in an ambulance otherwise.

Just reading this good piece on BBC Sport: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A22059461 I'd never realised he was that good, I only ever knew him as the squeaky voiced fella who was a bit of a rubbish manager. RIP.
  11. Absolutely, along with about eight other clubs. Get Leeds, Forest, The Mackems and Sheff Wed back in. I'm very disappointed to see Leeds about to go down. Real football club.
  12. What a bell end Hartlepool v Darlington is more intense than the North London derby, OF and Buenos Aires I accept. Big it might not be, but Hartlepool and Darlo absolutely despise each other. Has anyone seen Eifion Williams' second in the last derby? Uber-brilliant.
  13. Arsenal I always support in everything, apart from matters affecting NUFC. Got great respect for their fans, manager, players and club in general. The rest can get to fuck.
  14. I'd absolutely love it if it had burned to the ground. Shame.
  15. Living in the past! Would you honestly rather a match-fixing cheating bastard team who shouldn't even be in the Champs League this year went through, rather than a team who happened to beat us to the title by virtue of getting more points in a season 10ish years ago? Absolutely. I despise them and I hope Milan go through and trounce whichever bunch of tossers get through the other semi. You call others sad and pathetic What, cos I don't want a club I dislike to win the European Cup? I know, unbelievable.
  16. Today Mourinho's been giving Benitez stick because he's not won a league title and Mourinho says he'd have been sacked if he'd done that. Is he oblivious to the fact he's had ten times as much to spend as everyone else? Or is he just an obnoxious dickhead? My money's on the latter.
  17. Wouldn't suprise me if Chelsea tried to get the venue switched to London if they get to the final Wouldn't urprise me if the dips complained to UEFA if they lose that because they have won it 5 times they deserve a bye to the final anyway and we get a three way battle
  18. Dunno about that like. What Ally usually says in the real world is usually the opposite so just based on this I'm going to have to side with Wullie. What? I rate Martins, but his finishing is pretty poor and he's missed quite a lot of good chances. Ditto for Berbatov. He misses a boatload, very good player though. Not true at all but whatever you want to beleive. You only have to look at the games against us to see how many chances Berbatov misses, I remember the away game against Braga too where he missed three nailed-on sitters in the first half. His finishing is not great by any means.

  20. I sent a rant to Dave from the pub earlier. Genuinely couldn't believe the cheers that went up when Man Utd scored. This is the club who beat us to the title, who Shearer stuck two fingers up at, who beat us 6-2 on our own turf, who we despised for a long time in the 90s and now when they score in the Champions League semi final, a Newcastle pub is cheering them?!?!? What next, cheering the fucking mackems? I blame the fucking toffee nosed southern student cunts. Send the buggers back tbh.
  21. Where as you said Souness was better than Keegan, only to act like a tart when Wullie dug it 2 years later. "I didn't say that! I was pissed! I said it as a joke! Somebody edited my posts!" On the contrary, you could dig up about 200 quotes that leazesmag said which were the direct opposite of that quote. What does that tell you ? Those intelligent people on toontastic, who have a track record of editing peoples posts, posting people's photographs, and posting personal details of posters..... I would say only a big tart would bother looking for such things, that are 2 years old, without even mentioning editing them, as clearly if LeazesMag had been aware of them he would have changed them, having made all the other posts that he did which are the total opposite. Never mind. I don't suppose he's too bothered. At least it showed how shite a message board it is, and what a bunch of wankers run it, or maybe just one wanker. Who knows. Divvent bother mentioning this again Baggio mate, its not really fair dragging other boards into this, like you do on here, the mods have asked you to stop. If you want to drag it up with me, then feel free to do it on howaythetoon, as I won't do it on here again. You know they didn't edit your post so stop being so pathetic.
