Just watched that Beckham one on youtube. No way is that 97mph.

114, Jesus fucking Christ, surprised it didn't break the bar. Richie Humphreys can still hit them when he wants to. His goal against Accrington Stanley earlier this season was real top class.

Harper's a good keeper, but makes a few too many errors. However, I don't think the idea that he would be England keeper is ridiculous at all, because of what he's up against. The current crop of England goalkeepers have made some fucking massive mistakes this season. Robinson's looked hopeless for much of the season, particularly against us at home (at fault for all three goals) and of course the Croatia debacle, and as for Chris Kirkland, I love watching him on MOTD, he's endless entertainment, he should start coming onto the field in a car with doors that fall off wearing huge shoes and a wig.

  That Bascombe is a 100% fucking helmet.

Fair play to Glenn, he got it spot on on Saturday. Took some bottle to drop Duff.
-
He was excellent certainly.

Ooooh so that's what being a sewpa sweepa keepa involves! Coming out to clear your lines, kicking it straight against the opposition centre forward and giving him an open goal. Better than Given! He can't sweep up in that manner!

Don't think so. Certainly not while playing for us.
-
Whaddya mean? I thought about Cole, but I don't think he ever played for England with us... did he?
-
But he was at Liverpool then, course, sorry. DUH.
-
In that case, Pedro wore 9 in that semi final.

Players who've played up front for England while at Newcastle was what I answered for.

People, especially commentators, who miss the end of a team's name off when there's two teams with the same name: "We're playing Sheffield at the weekend" "Manchester were all over them". Doesn't tend to be as bad for the Manc teams tbf, but Sheffield really gets my goat, be even worse if I were a Wednesday fan. I've found women to be particularly bad for this.[/generalisation]

1. At the start of the season what where your expectations, and are things going as you expected? Start of the season, a push for the UEFA Cup (whoopee). By the end of the disastrous August window though, I'd have taken anything other than relegation, so I'm not feeling as low about this season as I otherwise might have. 2. Who's been your best performer this season? Oba Martins. Or maybe Milner. One of them anyway. 3. And your worst/most disappointing? Another toss up, between Carr and Duff this time. 4. You had a quiet January transfer window, if you where the manager, who would you have tried to sign? A veteran striker to see us through until the summer, possibly Montella who went to Fulham, a centre back, hopefully Gooch will live up to his reputation and crucially, the position which does not exist at NUFC, a left back. 5. What are your best and worst memories of our previous meetings? Best - not much, possibly that terrific Bellamy and Robert inspired come-back at Anfield a few years ago. Worst - Collymore closing in. 6. Do you have any favourite/best chants (and perhaps any that require an explanation)? Nah, our repertoire of songs is at an all time low. 7. What’s the banter like between Newcastle and Liverpool fans at St James, would you say that the 2 sets of fans get on? Banter's very unimaginative these days unfortunately, it is for most clubs. I'd say we get on canny though, we're similar clubs in many ways, apart from the main difference, you win everything, we win nowt. 8. In the summer, Liverpool and Newcastle are told to swap 3 first team regulars, who would you send to Liverpool, and who would you like from us? Carr, Babayaro and Ramage, we'll have Gerrard, Carragher and Kuyt. 9. Liverpool have become the lastest club to gain new owners, Newcastle have been mentioned as well as a likely candiate for a takeover. How do you feel about these take-overs by foreign owners, and would you like to see it happen at Newcastle? As long as they don't look to make too many changes, I've no problem with it. There's been enough Englishmen messed up enough clubs over the years, the foreigners can't do more damage than some. I'd like to see it, yes, Shepherd's taking us further backwards all the time. 10. Care to predict Mr Roeder’s starting line up for the game? Not quite what I would play but: Harper - Solano, Onyewu, Bramble, Taylor - Milner, Butt, Parker, Duff- Dyer, Martins 11. And finally, let’s have your score predictions for the game: 3-1 to Liverpool.

You a cat with 9 lives like? Dunno, I've only seen 7 Like it.

Souness went when we were 26 points off 24.
-
If the Gooch kicks him in the air, he'll end up on Strawberry Place.
-
Bit off topic, though perhaps not now we have the Gooch, but I hate the way Americans pronounce Newcastle. Always hear it at the Arena when they're shouting the name of the city to get a cheer. Last night it was Rihanna then the Pussycat Dolls doing it. CRINGE.

Duff's not British tbh. I'll point it out before someone else does, I'd say he is British in footballing terms though. Charles N'Zogbia better hurry his arse back, that's all I can say.

I only saw the first half and the last 15 minutes, but what I saw was Eriksson-tastic, so incredibly dull. Wright Phillips was woeful, his game seems to be about pace and little else. I can't believe so many people criticise Milner when this bloke (£17m was it?) could play all night and not put a decent cross in. The amount of times he would face up to the full-back and just do nothing with it (reminded me hugely of Duff this season actually) was incredible, and every time I thought "Milner would step over that twice, leave the defender on his arse and get the ball in". Never seen the fuss over Carrick either, very average looking player. Decent passer, not much else. Lampard as well, fucking hell, as if he's still getting a game.
-
I don't think anyone could have predicted how bad Duff has been for NUFC. However, we knew about this last month, and someone wants their arse kicking if there is any truth in a £7m bid from Spurs being rejected. I've given up on Luque, like most, due to a number of circumstances. No-one is blameless for the Luque situation, neither the player nor the club, but I still think he's shown as much as Duff, who gets away with it for the time being because we've seen how good he was and because he doesn't immediately suffer from being accused of "lazy foreigner" syndrome.

Yeah me too.
