Every single time him or Milner got the ball, there was two men on them straight away. We couldn't capitilise on this, due to our totally one-dimensional game. If the wingers can't cross, we have nowt to offer.

On point A, tbf, crossing the ball in makes little difference with our little players up front, which is why I thought taking Milner off for the Sib was stupid. Bob Moncur and Malcolm MacDonald are pathetic when it comes to Martins. They'd both quite happily sit and slag him off for the whole show. Definitely agree with D, same goes for Milner. We seem afraid to switch the play and prefer the easy short pass, which acheives fuck all.

Poor performance, Boro came for a point and they rarely looked like not getting it. They offered absolutely nothing going forward and would never have scored, but we never took advantage of this. Difficult to pick a MOTM, no-one stood out. Thought Sibierski should have come on a lot earlier than he did, and for Dyer, because he had a shocker. Taking Milner off for the Sib was daft imo. Desperately missing Emre.

I much prefer him down the flank personally. Couple that with the fact that his competition is Damien Duff and it's a no-brainer.

I think we'll do them, Woodgate and Pogatetz are not the fastest and Taylor and Davies can both be got at down the flanks. Yak and Viduka can cause us problems but I fancy us for 2-1.

I think it does tbh. If you're making the point solely about personal abuse or something then fair enough, but he's an extremely poor player at this level. He's not what I would call competent backup for a Premiership side. His "defending" for West Ham's second goal a few weeks ago is one of the worst fundamental errors of defending I have ever seen at this level. Would have been hilarious if it wasn't us, saying it was schoolboy stuff would be harsh on 9 year olds.

Capitalised on some shocking goalkeeping by Shaka Hislop to score two goals in the last two minutes and send us crashing to a 2-1 defeat at Ewood in April (?) '96. More or less the final nail in our coffin.

His link up play is what you'd buy him for, it's phenomenal.

This season he's been absolutely superb. Definitely changed my opinion of him. Always had the talent but now seems to be using it on a more consistent basis.

Didn't think it was a bad first half at all, just a totally atrocious second. I think we'd have beat them if Nobby had buried the penalty. Won't be too harsh on him cos he's done well from the spot of late in important situations and it was not a poor penalty by any means, but I said to my mate as soon as we got it that I hoped he didn't go for the same spot yet again, which unfortunately he did. Ever since he missed at Middlesbrough when he hit the bar, I think he's gone for safety every single time he's taken a pen and banked on his ability to hit that bottom left hand corner with accuracy. Today it backfired. Martins was a plus, as usual, when he was involved with the game - his backheel for Sibierski to win the penalty was absolutely sublime and when he won that header which he placed into the corner, well saved by Filan, my mate's face was a picture, pure amazement that he could jump so high. The boy's pure class imo. I'm delighted to see CN'Z back, cos I'm a big fan and I can't stand Duff, just in time too, cos in my household next week is the game of the season. Weren't too many plusses though, thought we defended poorly and the service from the midfield was generally non-existant. The second half was as bad as we've been all season, when we go one down away from home, we look totally devoid of ideas or fight.

These fucking pessimists, I'm bloody sick of them.
