  1. Thought Klopp didn't have a winner's mentality. Or is it Pochettino? I can't keep up. Suppose we'll find out on June 1st cos they can't both have one.

    Sunderland

Taken aback by how bad Pompey were, dear me.
  3. I'm good to play, haven't kicked a ball since the last game, it's going to be humiliating, I'm crap enough even when I'm fit.
  4. Why? Because UEFA have arranged a final in a place where one of their players has to be left at home for his own safety? I think we'd be seeing a lot more fuss about it if it were Aubameyang or Hazard who couldn't play.
  5. I don't understand (well, the answer is probably €€€ but I'll make my point anyway) why they don't just have a list of potential stadiums and choose the final venue based on the two teams who qualify for it (size of fanbase, distance, travel convenience etc). Most of these big European stadiums can host a final at the drop of a hat, as the Bernebeu did when they moved the Copa Libertadores there at short notice.
  6. I think Arsenal have got every right to demand the final be moved.
  7. How's that "keeping calm in front of the family" going?
  8. What sort of odds do you get on that?
  9. That guy they got from AZ has made Afonso Alves look like Aguero. Top scorer last season in the Eredivisie and hasn't managed one in the PL.
  10. I'd feel much easier about it if it were a Man City-Chelsea final, at least then you know that NUFC aren't playing on a level playing field. Fucking Spurs man. Our manager once resigned partly because he felt so sorry for theirs after we put 7 past them ffs.
  11. It's amazing. All these clubs round Europe who are so much better than everyone else in their league is biting them on the arse in Europe because none of them can defend, they might only face a decent attacking threat 3 or 4 times a season domestically, tops. The only difference is England where six clubs are all giving each other a game and basically all making each other more robust.
  12. Just changed the handle, @GeorgeCaulkin
  13. It's magnificent European nights like this at Anfield that remind me how much I fucking despise Liverpool Football Club.
  14. I've not seen such a massive chip on the shoulder since NE5 got banned.
  15. Kompany's done that before on a title decider on a Monday night, against Man United with a game or two left, well it wasn't a thirty yard screamer but he scored the winner.
  16. Kompany yellow at 7/2 was a gift.
  17. Fucking hell that’s sad, urgh. Liverpool winning the league sends out a message to your on club they too can win the league without being bankrolled by a terrorist state. If that’s what makes you feel your own club not winning the league more bearable though hey, that’s what it’s all about no... Sorry, but I just don’t get this kind of rationalising! Let's not pretend that Liverpool haven't spent ridiculous money in order to compete too like; their squad cost about £550 million - that's hardly a message of hope to the rest of the league they're no underdog story like Leicester so Man City's spending becomes significantly less relevant in terms of deciding who you want to win it You're comparing chalk and cheese there. Liverpool's spending has been in line with the club's income thanks to some massive sales (not just Suarez and Coutinho either, they got £40m back for Ings and Solanke), certainly not an extravagance. Over the last 5 years, on a net basis they've spent less than Everton have.
  18. Bit different though really, Everton fans have seen Liverpool win semi-regular trophies including the Champions League and most of them will remember them being the dominant force in England and Europe. Them winning something is less of a blow. I think I'd sell my granny to stop fucking Sunderland being champions.
