Completely changed the game on Boxing Day at the Reebok too, and scored the winner. But I'm supposed to believe a Bolton fan who says we've been better off with Gouffran.

Definitely, he's the type of player we have needed in this slump - someone who can make something out of nothing. I just fail to understand why he is loved on here when in reality compared to others, he has contributed very little and made an arse out of his own career. There is no doubt he's a talented footballer. Because the way he plays is highly likely why most of us fell in love with football and the kind of football we dreamed about Unless of course you dreamt about Gouffran running 15 yards and then passing the ball 10 yards to Colback? I can totally understand that and as I have said, I loved his moments of magic. But the reality is, a lot of the time he did not show up. Sterling has been hammered on here recently for not showing up certain games, similar player, similar attitude. So Sterling wouldn't get in our side either? What did you think of Laurent Robert? Not once have I said I do not want HBA in our team. All I have done is point out that he never fulfilled his potential and repeatedly gave nothing performances but is still carried on here as the saviour of all. If people mention his name in a slightly negative manner on this forum they are shot down, it's ridiculous. And Robert?

No, he would have thrown a wobbly just like he did at Lyon and Marseille and refused to play and put in a transfer request. Hasn't he got about four French titles?

Gonna have a go on that later, any game recommendations for a decent winning chance?
-
Exactly what I first thought of. John probably thinks it was a real documentary. Did he put Simply The Best on afterwards and run out the room?
-
That's fantastic news. The more of his allies that leave, the more chance of him thinking "fuck it, more bother than it's worth". I hope.

Nope, it's not a thing. Southampton don't, sunderland don't. West Brom have never had it whilst they've had their thick normal stripes. We're the only ones who seem to insist on it for some reason. What about the premier league numbers/letters? Are they only allowed to be black now? When West Brom had their stripes, they used red letters/numbers. Obviously black would be impossible on any newcastle kit, red would probably look ridiculous too We used to have red numbers before the PL, it was fine.

Wullie stated his contribution last season on a game by game basis, for pens won, goals scored, and assists provided. At Hull it's was always gonna be s*** with Bruce in charge you maniac. Aye, and I think he stated 3 games? Oh yeah sorry, forgot everybody in football is s**t except for Hatem. He only started around 12 or 13 games and still managed to make a sizable contribution in terms of goals/assists that directly influenced particular games - winning goals, winning assists. I could also have included Stoke at home where we scored five and he had a direct hand in three of them (and was dropped for the next game). But you think in 37 games this year, he would have had zero impact. Nil. None whatsoever.
-
The biggest compliment I can pay him is that Jason Puncheon is good at free kicks. You can wipe about ten points off Palace's total otherwise.
-
Cronky has enjoyed the last three seasons. Just read his posts. Everything is awesome.
-
We're in an almost identical situation to 12-13 but yeah great point. Cronky still avoiding comment on his advocating Carver for the job three months ago, all because Palace won one game in five.
-
I don't think he would have won us any more points than any of our current players. Given his consistent rate of goals/assists when he's actually allowed on the field, I find that an extraordinary statement but fair enough, we're not going to agree.
-
You seem to have left my question unanswered for about the third time.
-
Literally every player in the league has contributed to their team's points tally. By your logic, without Obertan we'd be relegated because of his goal v Leicester. So if he'd played every game this season, we'd be on the same points or less?
-
He didn't earn us two points (I.e. A significant contribution in the current context, given that you claim we'd be in the same situation) in the whole of last season? Are you sure about that? Seem to remember him coming off the bench late against Palace and crossing for Cisse to score. And scoring the only goal against Fulham at home. And both scoring and setting up the only goals away at Villa. None of that was worth the two points we're talking about?
-
Extrapolated over a season, that's about 9 of each, yet none of them would have changed a single result.
-
So if Ben Arfa had played 37 games, your view is we'd currently be on either the same points or less?
-
It's now become an attitude that is all-encompassing throughout the English game, that the Europa is to be avoided at all costs and that it will have disastrous consequences for anyone who enters.

So like the rest of the team, aye? Pretty much. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, if he was still here, it would make literally no difference to our league position. You honestly don't think he could have won us a game in this wretched run we have? Probably not. If everyone else doesn't give a monkey's then I don't get why the master of not giving a monkey's would be any different. Especially if his time at Hull is anything to go by. Also find it bizarre that people would think players like Marveaux would have saved us... Even though players like Marveaux did last time? How did he save us last time? Well his clever assist in the 94th minute against Stoke won us two points, which is what we're currently short of safety. He also set up the only goal late on against QPR at home, there's two more. He set up more goals than anyone else that season. I said players like him of course, Ben Arfa's contribution was also massive relative to the rest. Ah, I knew someone would mention that Marveaux provided most assists for us that season. There were 5. That's not to be sniffed at, but it's less of a contribution than many current squad members have made this season. Most players will score or set up a couple of big goals a season... We're two points short of safety. Ben Arfa had won us two extra points on his own by the time the first game of that season had finished. Another penalty that he won himself, which you don't seem to count.

The idea that someone with Ben Arfa's goal/assist record per game wouldn't have been worth two more points over the course of an entire season is absolutely laughable.
-
Just like last time we were in this position and he never turned up. Apart from the crucial equaliser at Loftus Road.
