  1. Really? Of course. There's nobody actually running the club anymore, if you hadn't noticed.
  2. Err we had all but one of those players last season and stayed up with a game to go. Wave of optimism. Another one who I suspect would be delighted for NUFC to finish 10th - doesn't fit my dictionary definition of "optimistic".
  3. It's almost as pathetic as the same repetitive shit you get everytime a club signs a player. Sarcastic shit such as "can't compete with sovereign states". etc. The forums became a chore to read now and what was once enjoyable and had good debates is just stupid and petty. Shows the angle you're coming from that you feel more strongly about people being annoyed at the lack of signings than you do about the shambles the club has been left in. "Optimist" on this forum has long been used to describe someone who is content with absolutely everything the club does even when it's to the massive detriment of the football team.
  4. "Hyper negative"? Ian you're the most negative defeatist person on this forum. Everyone else wants the club to be successful, you're happy with existing and "having a season with a few decent moments". I don't know how you've got the nerve to say anyone else is negative. Please tell me what these positives are that we're all missing. The club is in more disarray than I've ever known it and this after scraping to safety last time round.

    Loïc Remy

Kinnear wasn't brought in to stop any nonsense, he was brought in for a laugh at the fans and as a possible bonus to try and force the manager out for free. Let's not pretend that he actually has a role that he's failing at. He's just there as a bit of a laugh for the owner. Fucking coronary cunt.
  6. Surely his point is that by the manager's admission we can't compete with those clubs financially. Don't let that serve as a reason not to defend the club's transfer policy at all costs though. Ian, when are you going to pack in with mocking those concerned about the club's future? Absolutely pathetic.

    Alan Pardew

Just read on True Faith that in the Braga programme notes he said that "we made Motherwell look ordinary"
  8. Must be desperate to get rid if they're putting him in the classifieds.
  9. God football's shit isn't it? When does the next Test match start?
  10. Welbeck will be at Fulham in two years time, if he's lucky.

    Football podcasts

I've completely packed in with all of them. Will probably still listen to the Tuesday Club but don't miss the rest really. Might start again when we're not shit, though God knows when that might be.
  12. Get away man, nobody tells Pardew to say things like "thank God we're not in Europe" Just about everything he says about the club is negative, this is not an isolated incident.
  13. Hans. Phrases like "if a big club comes in for him" from the manager of Newcastle United are fucking embarrassing. The first step towards coming across as a big club is acting like one - Liverpool act like they're the biggest club in the world and it has worked for them for a long time, they still have a massive profile amongst players worldwide despite falling well short on the pitch. We act like we're lucky to even be in the top flight.
  14. Pardew's hoping Monaco buy him so that he can say "I told you so" about those damn sovereign states.
  15. How is ignoring problem positions for years on end because they can't get anything out of the bargain bin the "right and logical way to run a football club"? Can't believe what I'm reading.
  16. Comparing our approach to Arsenal's is ludicrous.
  17. Gouffran's nowhere near good enough in that role to be starting every week in that position. Gouffran's a tidy little player but he's not a wide player, not left sided and not even as good as Downing is for that matter. And I'm not claiming it's a matter of that at all. What I can't abide is this constant stream of "hur hur hur look at them mugs forking out for players they wanted to buy". Why would any West Ham fan give the slightest shit about how much they paid for a player? Whatever they've paid for him is a drop in the ocean of the new tv deal. What they really need is someone like Graham Carr who they can get to find lots of French international hidden gems and bid well under the asking price for them. Don't know why they haven't thought of that before tbh.
  18. Hardly the way to run a sustainable club is it? West Ham can't afford to pay for a new stadium/the Olympic one but they can afford to pay big fees for overpriced English players on huge contracts. It's a joke. I sometimes think our fans would be happier if we spunked money away (don't get me wrong, I want another striker and out and out winger) rather than putting the work in and buying sensibly. In football there isn't one answer, there are many. Where are these many then? Where's this work you claim we're putting in? The season starts in less than a week and we still have a defensive midfielder starting as one of our wide forwards. If that's a "sustainable club" then count me out.
  19. I'd rather just stop playing that formation and leave Jonas out of the side then bring in a player like Downing. Also bollocks to not laughing at them, wheres the fun in that? They're spending whats neccesary to bring in the players they want and if they were good players I'd be envious to a degree. But as it is they've bought a player I think is quite poor at a bad age for a bad price. Stop playing wide players? How the fuck does that work then?
  20. NUFC fans should learn their lesson and stop cracking up with laughter every time they see a club paying more money for a player than they think they're worth. West Ham wanted a player, they went out and paid what his club wanted for him. Good luck to them. "But they paid too much!" - so fucking what? I'm not a huge fan of Downing but I'd rather have him on the left wing than Jonas, which is what we've got to look forward to. Least we're not getting mugged on price.

    Alan Pardew

    Well summed up from Parky.
  22. It's one of the worst transfer windows in my time following the club yet nobody seems arsed. This has become the norm and we all lap it up as usual.
  23. Totally agree with Disco. We all know NUFC fans have a problem with boycotting the games, we feel we're letting the team down, we've already put our cash down etc etc but here's a perfect chance to put down at least a little marker to Ashley to say "we've paid for this in the past but no more, it'll be the cup games next then who knows what" yet there's still people daft enough to turn up for fifteen quid. He's got us over a barrel alright.
