  1. For about three games maybe. Cole's completely finished imo.
  2. That's absolute madness though. One defeat after a very respectable most-of-season in charge last year? No wonder people think Newcastle fans are unrealistic. Unrealistic not to lose to sunderland, where they've beaten us once in, what, 30 years? Are you fucking kidding me? Are you deliberately missing the point or what? I'm not saying we shouldn't beat them, obviously we should. What I'm saying is that Pardew shouldn't come under pressure if we lose. It's the second game of the season FFS. If he loses against opposition that his predecessor gave the arse-kicking of a lifetime less than a year ago, then of course he should be under pressure! You're the one who's convinced that we've got a better squad now than then, with that in mind, how is there any excuse in the world for losing that match?

Just as well or we're really fucked.

    Alan Pardew

Simply summed up in a sentence: "Whilst other clubs may have to sell to buy, we appear to have a model which demands that we sell to run the business."

Does Ba dominate defences and create chances like Carroll does? When AC's on his game, he is unstoppable. Reducing it to goals is too simple. He didn't score in the 5-1 but he set three up and they had a man sent off trying to stop him. Will Ba do all that? Let's hope so but those trying to convince themselves that we've not lost something special are living in a dream world.

The fees are all on the transfer league website itself.
  9. Complaining about footballers' wages is completely missing the point. That's what they get paid, comparing it to you and your life is pointless. I don't go to the cinema or listen to music and whinge about what the artist is getting paid. The clubs receive massive wedge from the tv companies and I'd much rather the players were getting the bulk of it than the likes of Llambias.

So you actually want us to pay them to do nothing? We've been paying them to do nothing for the past two/three/four years and we will be continuing to pay them to do nothing regardless. Ashley's own stupid fault, especially Xisco. Re: your question earlier, Redknapp left several of his high earners out of his 25 last season because they were of no use to him, like Smith and Xisco. Are you asking me whether I'd have Smith in the squad or Smith not in the squad? Not, not, not, every day of the week.

You want facts? Check our record for transfer spending since Ashley joined. Also, since you are suddenly so big on facts, why are you including Erdinc in our squad like he's already signed? Spent about £48m (up to now) haven't we, in the 4 season he's been here? That's not a bad outlay for someone who many claim won't spend on players. We make an £11m transfer profit on average per year.
  12. Smacks of when Robert tried to tell us all what a shit job Souness was doing and all Souness' little hangers on defended him to the hilt before admitting Robert had been right all along but not before it had cost us the UEFA Cup.
  13. This is correct. I seem to recall there was almost universal condemnation/unhapiness at some of Barton's first tweets. This is the same Enrique that said he wanted to spend the rest of his career here. It appears he has changed his mind. He is now unhappy and wants to leave. He tweets a load of inflammatory comments and half the board rally behind him like he's some kind of hero. Seemingly failing to spot that his comments cannot be good for the teams morale whichever way you look at it. The team is changing, as all teams do. If Enrique isn't happy he has to be shipped out and sharpish. It's not rocket science. Coloccini has just been made captain and by all accounts is honoured to take on the role, he's very happy with it. The newest team members all suggest that conversations with Ben Arfa were in some way influentual on their decision to join Newcastle. Do Enrique's comments do anything to enhance this new incarnation of Newcastle United? No, of course they don't. They're a harsh discord in whatever light you look at it. We will all still be here supporting Newcastle long after Enrique has retired from football. Let's get out perspective in place. Enrique should just shut the fuck up, if he's unhappy - fuck off His comments do nothing for team spirit, they do the opposite - so why are so many rushing to defend him? Why do so many rush to defend a regime that is so bad for the club that players and managers consistently try to tell us what a shit job they are doing? Unless you're claiming that what Enrique's said is ultimately going to be worse for the club than years of Ashley mismanagement?
  14. Aye, alright. If you were a player, would you not be pissed off if another player said he was irritated that the club weren't bringing in quality players? I'm irritated that the club aren't bringing in quality players. That doesn't NECESSARILY mean that I think the players we've brought in aren't quality (I wouldn't know tbh). The two statements aren't mutually exclusive, nor do they cancel each other out. If you're reducing the argument to semantics, not to mention semantics that has been translated from another language and put onto a website that encourages brevity, I think it says more about the incessant will to defend Ashley/Llambias/Pardew that exists on here than it does about Jose Enrique.
  15. I'm more worried about our squad on August 20th at the minute tbh.
  16. Fairly fucking obvious what he means tbh.

    Sports Direct

Why don't we just have 100% free Sports Direct advertising if it makes no difference financially then Pip? What a silly thing to say.

    Sports Direct

It's vast swathes of advertising space that could bring money into the club, instead of us paying to advertise his cheap tat.
  19. He says they won't spend on quality players doesn't he? Which is true.
  20. Utter mugs paying that for him given his contract situation. That will certainly comfort me when he rips us a new arsehole again. I've no doubt it'll cause the Villa fans to lose sleep too.
  21. I know it's twitter, but he writes Spanish as a 10-year old. Doesn't come across as a smart person at all. I'm yet to see a "tweet" (*cringe*) by anybody that doesn't come across like it was written by a toddler tbf.
  22. Kenwright is a total hate figure amongst Everton fans. Hardly a ringing endorsement as a comparison.
  23. Fair play to him. The more whistle blowing on these cunts the better as far as I'm concerned. Hardly likely to affect the success of the team, that's the last thing that matters to the charlatans running the show anyway. Enrique wants a successful NUFC far more than they do.
