  1. Certainly one of the worst in the Premiership era. The squad has been patched together without any sort of thought towards the type of football we are going to play. I couldn't tell you our best XI and I don't think anyone at the club has a clue either. The two good periods we've had in the Premiership are when we've had eleven players who are the best in their own positions in a specific formation and when one in out, someone else comes in. At the moment, we have to shove square pegs in round holes, change formations, move players from where they are settled. It's just a total mess. The real worry for us is that the bottom of the Premiership looks much stronger than last year - the three promoted clubs all have more about them than usual (Hull are home and dry already tbh), Wigan are much better and won't go down, ditto the mackems, Spurs will probably get themselves out of it, Bolton and Fulham look more capable than last season. We need to start picking up points - I want a minimum of eight from WBA, Villa, Fulham and Wigan. No excuses.
  2. The long ball stuff was eerily reminiscent of the same fixture last season. For once I'm actually not trying to go on about it but it was in stark contrast to the stuff Keegan had us playing. Bet Oba didn't have to challenge for as many long punts in 6 months under KK as he did today. Having said that it must be tempting to try and bypass that wank midfield.
  3. I'm looking forward to Taylor's "We let the fans down" EXCLUSIVE in Monday's Chronicle.
  4. I don't know why we don't try Martins just leathering the sodding thing goalwards like Richardson did. We had a free kick about five yards behind where he hit his from and typically Geremi just wafted a soft one into the wall. He's no Shearer accuracy wise but with his shot power, Martins just has to hit the target and he's got a chance of it either beating the keeper or forcing a parry.
  5. He's crap but he is a good free kick taker, just look at last week against Fulham. Our direct free kicks by comparison, I totally despair. Total and utter waste of time, if the free kick is vaguely central and closer than 40 yards, we might as well just give the opposition the ball back and do away with the rigmarole of the wall and Geremi hitting some kid in Row Z.
  6. Boro winning late on. Alves. Just to make me feel even better.
  7. Injured IIRC The club never mention him, he might as well not exist. Another inspired signing. Sign unknown foreigners, forcing out the current manager in the process, then bring in an old school English manager who is never going to pick them anyway? Genius. What the f*** does this have to do with the player being injured? It's amazing how people like you can insert opinions about the board in threads that have nothing to with it. If he's injured, why don't the club tell us when he'll be back or how he's getting on? My prediction is that he won't play for us again, injured or not. My point stands in relation to Xisco.

  9. I'd never have a go at anyone for dropping Duff tbf.
  10. Who cares? If you ain't seen the tyne bridge your obviously just faking it. Get over it. As a Newcastle born and bred Newcastle fan, I have the highest respect for supporters who come from outside the region and the extra effort and cost they incur in following the team. You are as much a part of the club as those from the north east.
  11. I sit directly underneath the away end at SJP now that they've moved them. I'm wearing my tin hat and jeans with deep pockets when we play them at home. It'll be like a hoy-oot.
  12. Aye, it's almost as if some of us are from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. What a stupid f***ing thing to say. What? Now that was a stupid thing to say. Blaming the system, the owners, Kinnear etc is bloody stupid and pointless. They pretty much had their strongest team out and we didn't even come close. I think we would have beaten them easily otherwise. We played alright on the whole and they played well. But hey let's play the blame game all over again! That's so much more fun! I blame Owne for having muscle tissue made out of tissue paper! I blame Freddy Shepherd and John Hall for selling the club to that evil non-Geordie Mike Ashley! I blame Keegan for being a stroppy little man! yada, yada, yada, yada bollox. Two players (Owen, Viduka) from our best team. Sorry, but you can't blame injuries on this one. Jonas got 15 mins because he only just returned, as did Barton. If they are fit enough to play the 90, we win this game easily imo. Beye still isn't quite right either and Martins doesn't look very sharp. How would we win it easily? When they'd both probably be bypassed anyway with the ball being aimed far beyond their reaches. Did you watch the match? Did you see what happened after they both came on? You don't have the first clue what this means to people from this area so why bother offering comment? f***s sake What's your problem? Kaka thinks I'm overreacting. I say that when he's actually seen the Tyne Bridge, he'll have the right to tell me I'm overreacting to a derby defeat. Until then, he should keep his f***ing nose out. you're telling him he shouldnt even bother having an opinion because he's not local? classic. He's not allowed to tell me I'm overreacting, no. Fairly f***ing obvious iyam. mackems.gif Look mate - do you think Keegn would of lost that game? With players he bought? No. Not what i asked. Squirm as much as you like mate - but you know your way off with this one. f***ing disgraceful result, i know but JK is responsible for this one. The quality of the squad is not to blame for this result. Squirm? Of course Keegan would have won this game, like he did last year at a canter. So your point about Wise and the quality of squad is f***ing invalid if Keegan would of got a better result witht he exact same squad. Not rocket science like. Not really. The reason Ashley backed Wise instead of Keegan was because he thought the squad was so good that the manager didn't matter. Not rocket science like. Is that a reason or a wild guess? And what exactly has that got to do with this match?? If the squads the same yet you think you;d get 2 different results with different managers then the only variable here is the manager and therefore the manager is repsonsible for the loss. Rocket science is probably too much for you so how about we move it to "join the dots". Are you dim or something? Ashley is to blame for the squad situation, the manager situation and our first defeat off this lot for 8 years, first away for 28 years. Does that clear things up? mackems.gif Oh my god. that is embarressing logic, so Ashley is responsible for every single result we have this season be it good or bad? Thats borderline idiotic i'm afraid. You admit that another manager would of got a better result with the same squad but still go on to say the squad is the reason we're losing, scratch that, that is idiotic. So, same car, different drivers different results yet the cars and the builders of the car are the reason for the loss. Credit to you for being this passionate though, feel free to let that get in the way of logic. Honestly haven't got a clue what you're gibbering about now. The squad AND the manager both make a difference on the result of a football match. This is not a difficult concept. f*** me - this is impossible. do you even know how you started this debate, by blaming Wise and Asley for the quality of the squad and therefore this loss. Then you go on to say that Keegan would of got a result with the EXACT same squad. So how can you say the quality of the squad was the reason we lost this result. I've even simplified it for you and you still dont get it. Squad A + Keegan = Win (in your eyes) Squad A + JK = Loss The only variable here is the managers so that can be the only thing responsible for the differing results. That is scientific fact you bamp. I'm going to assume that the people who matter on this forum are able to understand how dim you look. Even if the managers were the only variables (which they're not), Ashley forced Keegan out by backing his slimey mates. So it's his fault. Right? Keegan wouldn't have lost against a dismal lot like these scumbags but even he wouldn't have been able to work miracles with the squad he was offered by Ashley and his chums to make any significant progress. mackems.gif "people who matter on this football forum" I was gonna give up mate, but you're just way too much fun. So if we'd won this match would Ashley of been responsible for this win 'for getting rid of keegan'? Thats pretty much the see-saw logic you're applying there mate. Good one. Cue a reply of "well we didnt win this", missing the point yet again. i cant believe your are going to make Ashley responsible for every single 90 minute result we play from now on in be it win or loss. Not every defeat. Defeat in a Tyne-Wear derby is never acceptable. Not now, not ever. Neither is being second bottom of the Premiership with a quarter of the season gone. As long as you think Ashley's doing a good job though eh?
  13. Did anyone expect anything else? They've invaded the pitch after every goal against us at that place, they invaded the pitch when England played there, it's one of the few grounds where racist abuse is still commonplace. These people are animals. They might have three points today but they'll always be sub-human.

  15. Er...have a guess, man! FFS hes the one thats left us with an interim manager and maybe if he invested properly in the summer we wouldnt have to play players like Nicky Butt for every game!! Its a f*cking disgrace! You think so? when Keegan could have bit the bullet and got on with his job, like a lot of people do even if it's not going your way. Yeah I do. I think that he was right to walk tbh. He was going to have to put up with that system of transfers etc. if he did stayed and he cant operate like that. Im pretty sure most British managers cant. Its a tough one to call but why the f*ck did Ashley have to put the system in place anyway? Just get a scouting network going and let the manager deal with ins and outs etc. Its simple. Ashley doesnt have a f***ing clue and it really does show. Thank f*** for Totenham Hotspur FC. Well obviously he saw how well it works on the continent and why people say it wouldn't work in a British system is just bullshit!, it can!, if you give it time, which was what was needed and if King Kev was so unhappy, why leave it so late?, to spit his dummy out!. You're saying how well it worked on the continent. Guess which nation at a club level is currently dominating the Champions League? Erm I think that would be us. Nothing to do with having more money than all the other leagues, obviously. Feel free to point out which big money players got Liverpool and Arsenal to three consecutive finals.

Oh I'm so torn up inside because the local Geordies don't accept me as a Newcastle supporter! Whatever will I do with myself! If you think that gets to me your dead wrong. I'll support who the hell I want and in whaatever manner I choose too. One thing I know for sure is that I support the club a whole lot better than some of the lot that gaze at the Tyne bridge all day. Verty ignorant statement. Anyway ... my point about over reacting was in relation too dragging up the whole Ashley vs the Geordies bollox because we lost a close derby game at a very improved Sunderland side. That is an embarrassing over reaction. By all means vent your frustraton over the game, but for fuck sake the world vs Ashley nonsense has been done to death already. No need drudging it up after every loss. Pathetic. first defeat on wearisde in 28 years or something. this is a big deal, if you don't think so then wullie's got a point. mebbe the non local fans don't see the derby as such a big match, fair enough as they arent from the area so might not understand the nature of the rivalry, but that doesnt mean they should come on here and tell the locals they are over-reacting and embarrasing. fucking bullshit. but the "locals" can tell the "outsiders" they cant have an opinion? weird. On a Tyne Wear derby? Yes. They can. Some people are humble enough to realise that they can never understand what this means to us and some are just utter arseholes who think they have the right to tell people from Newcastle (it's actually a place) how to react when beaten by sunderland despite the fact they couldn't find either place on a map.
