  1. It's desperate what's been allowed to go on at Blyth, over the last 3-4 years. Shameful. North Shields got a 2-2 draw at Easington, although Shields were 2-0 up at one point.
  2. Spartans battered 4-0 at Blyth Town, tonight. God knows what's going on and also - why the hell did Solano take the job in the first place? Everything so far pointing towards the new owner, being a con-man. Desperate.
  3. Yup - read on RTG, earlier.
  4. To be fair to the mackems, we have a large gammon section among our support too. Plenty foreign haters in my part of the world (SE Northumberland)
  5. Blyth got hammered 7-0 at home off Gateshead, through the week. It could be a very long season for them - this recent takeover seems to have disaster written all over it. I wonder why Nobby took the job on?
  6. North Shields beat Blyth Spartans 2-1, last night. Notable win for Shields - but for Blyth?

    England

The right choice and I wish him well for the future.
  8. If Gallagher played for us, he'd be nowhere near this England squad. BTW - was talking with Jack Charlton's son, John on Sat dinnertime. We agreed that the England team has looked unbalanced all tournament and he felt that Southgate has been pressurized by the media/FA (in the main) to fit certain players into the side, at the expense of the overall team. Told me a story that when Jack was called up for the WC squad in 66 (aged 29 I think), his dad asked Alf Ramsey as to why he had picked him, when there was other 'better' players available. Ramsey said that he wanted to play a certain way and Jack fitted into that. Ramsey also made a big call that tournament in not putting Jimmy Greaves back into the side - playing Geoff Hurst instead. As they say - the rest is history. Big name players are being shoehorned into this side at the expense of the team. But it's probably always been that way in recent times.
  9. We dropped off by 10 yards after Palmer scored. Down to the manager that - not the players?
  10. Both goals came down our right hands side, with Walker exposed. Am I being too harsh and saying Saka was at fault too for not tracking back quick enough?
  11. A victory for attacking football, tonight. England too over-cautious (as usual) and were made to pay by the Spanish who were worthy winners. England need a proactive coach now.
  12. Ground out a win against a tough, but workman like Dutch side. ๐Ÿ‘ This England team arenโ€™t easy on the eye, but there seems to be guts and determination. Super touch and finish by Watkins. ๐Ÿ‘
  13. Whatโ€™s happened re Dennis Tueart?
  14. Whilst I'm obviously pleased we won last night, by christ - it's hard work. England are so lacking in inspiration - being more bothered about not losing the game, than trying to win it. Almost hoping to bore the opposition (and all of us) to death. Reminds me of Newcastle under cabbage-heed.
  15. Hope to hell that Bellingham doesn't turn out to be an arrogant arsehole. Lacking class doing that, IMO.
  16. Harsh on Georgia this - they've played their part in a good game.
  17. I lived in Boro for 4 years - 92/96 (as a student)
  18. True enough - Dan Burn would have to look up to me, to talk to. (seriously!)
  19. This Georgia side are playing with no fear - and it's great to watch. Proper antidote after watching England.
