Tony Cunningham wasn't great, but he was a grafter. As for Mavis - he did OK I guess. That winner v Liverpool. -

Cacapa was no mug in France - captained an excellent Lyon side at the time, for a good few years. Perhaps his legs had just gone? -
First league win of the season for Blyth tonight! 1-0 v Workington. Billy Gordon with the goal. North Shields got a 1-1 draw at Newcastle Blue Star.

Trips will go on to have a good career in coaching and/or management, IMO. Seems to have that about him.

I would go for 80k too. Would hopefully get rid of any waiting list, as well as allowing hopefully cheaper tickets - making the club more accessible and not solely aimed at single young lads and the middle-classes. Many older fans inc the likes of myself, were priced out years ago.

Nailed on Thatcher wouldn't have dared doing that to Big Dunc! Cunt.

Blyth now 2-1 up

Blyth currently 1-1 at home in extra time v Campion, who are down to 10men after their keeper was sent off. North Shields beat Redcar 3-1, earlier on tonight.

Mirandinha hitting the angle of post and crossbar v Liverpool, in early 1989 (2-2 draw) Felt like from about 40 yards at the time.

Helluva move for the lad. Lets hope it works out for him.

Talk about a smash and grab win! Another 'not good performance;, but we get the win - somehow. Thought we defended manfully at times - backs to the wall, with Pope being terrific. However, midfield were off the pace and Anthony Gordon was probably the worst player on the pitch. Perhaps the sign of a good team - getting wins when not playing well?

Blyth squeaked a replay with a 1-1 draw at Campion. Lower league side pretty much outclassed them all game. π

Press will be going after the club over the next few days, tp try and stir up tension. Got to remember though; We are still suffering aftershocks from the Ashley-era, which will take time to shift. Can't under-estimate enough the damage that was done during those 14 years. And as a result, we have players that are not wanted, but on quite big contracts that are too much for championship level clubs to consider. That said, this window has been a failure and the Eales will have to explain. Re The Hope piece - locked behind a firewall.

Back at graft today. But - North Shields, Blyth, Whitley Bay, Ashington and Bedlington Terriers all away or not playing. So - will be a leek show somewhere this pm, probs!
