Well played Bradford. What have Villa been playing at though?
-
He had to put cash in when we went down, as well as pay off the mortgage for ground re-development when he bought the club. It's gonna take some paying back. I'm no expert, but I would guess that he will take enough so the club 'just' doesn't have to turn a profit, otherwise he would have to pay tax on that (Not sure though!) Is Quaysider around?
-
I would imagine so, Bimpy.
-
Yup - I'd be quite surprised if he hasn't started getting his money back. I'd bet that the upcoming accounts will show it - lot of money flowed into NUFC over the last year with very little going back out. I'd be amazed if the club doesn't turn a profit - or at least would have done if he has started clawing money back. For the record, I've got no problem with him getting his loan back. But when it comes at the detriment to the club and the awful way it treats it's fans, then that's something else. Time will tell I guess.

Was just about to post that, Dave. Seeking to curry a bit of favour with regards to us fans and to be honest, it's hard to disagree with what he says even if it is very late. Will be interesting to see if Llambias responds.......

Again - Toonpete. Dave said something earlier about their being no money to be made, when it comes to the domestic cups. Could that be a valid point as far as Ashley is concerned? All about the PL and nout else, which is why most of us expect us to limp out of the Europa League next month. Pardew will say that his focus has to be the PL - nevermind giving the fans something back for all of the shite we've had to put up with this season so far. Was waiting for Total Sport to ring me back earlier on tonight - was gonna go on all guns blazing. Sadly, they only had time for two Mag callers, with the rest being mackems. Presumably as Ando was on his way home. Can't ring in Monday night either as am at work. -
Couldn't get a game for Blyth Spartans on his recent showings. His confidence looks shot to hell. We all know the lad isn't good enough and have done so for some time. It's a travesty that he has ended up more-or-less first choice.
-
Not changed my mind since HT. He has to go. Managers have been sacked for a lot less than the run we presently find ourselves on. Leaving him in charge = relegation.
-
I'm gonna say it now and I don't care - I want Pardew out. Had enough - gutless, insipid and no game plan at all today. And it's not like it's a one off. Totally fed up.

Lost Brian Clough interview - well worth a listen

Taylor made Clough and the latter was never the same after they had their falling out (when Peter Taylor went to manage Derby) Clough's achievements with Forest will never happen again, such is modern football. Clough was clearly extremely arrogant, but he was real character and something which is lacking today where everything in the media is micro-managed so as not to offend anyone. -

Clough himself said how good himself and Taylor could have been with Newcastle. He would regularly complain about Forest attendances and would use as a barometer of crowd success, so to speak. He did have an interview with the club but decided against taking the job Was that when Joe Harvey was sacked and they brought in Gordon Lee? Never in a million years would the board have taken Clough on. -

My old man speaks very negatively to this day, with regards to that Leeds side - 'Dirty Bastards' is the term he uses. That said, you can't deny what Revie did with the club - took it from Division 2 to almost European Champions. Both he and Clough (at Derby and Forest) were backed to the hilt by their boards and got success. If only Newcastle had been ran similarly at the time instead of being used as a cash-cow by Westwood, Seymour and the McKeags. -

Whilst making an absolute pigs ear of the England job. Oh yes. Tried to repeat what he had done at Leeds, with England. Supermac was one of those who 'suffered' under Revie's reign. I don't think he speaks very highly of him to this day. -

Revie disgraced himself though, with leaving the England job for big money in the middle east. Huge scandal at the time. -

Am sure he later called Venables a 'Spiv' - or was it Sir Alan Sugar? -

Could never see modern day manager doing a Q&A with supporters. I went to one when Glenn Roeder was boss and to be fair, he spoke very well. Couldn't see Pardew doing it though! -

No bother, Rich. He was the last of his time - not afraid to speak his mind and his teams always played football the right way. Was a travesty that he was never England manager - but then, the FA were too frightened of him. -
http://www.forestfans.net/index.php?/topic/19097-lost-cloughie-qa-one-hour-he-ruins-everyone/ Lasts for about an hour. Well worth a listen for those that are old enough to remember 'Old Big Head'. The one manager (IMO) that Sir Alex cannot hold a candle to. Always had a lot of time for the man and his football.

I would take Lescott and at that price too. Would get another good 4/5 years out of him. No shred of truth in it though, unfortunately.

I wonder if he has insisted on a release clause with Chelsea? Good luck to him, but onwards and upwards for Newcastle.
