  1. I've blown smoke up your Mum's arse crack, does that count? We have three new players in midfield and we've lost two, to put it a lit bit more simply for you. IMO Cabaye is better by far than Barton and Ben Arfa will be better than Nolan. Throw Marv into that and all-together, the squad in that area is improved. I'm laughing at this. No-one knows yet how Cabaye is going to do, as the lads is unproven. I'll say not (and feel safe in saying it) that as good as he could be, he won't replace Nolan's goal threat. As for Ben Arfa, he hasn't played 5 games for us yet so he needs a run too to see if he can adapt to the PL. And again, the squad is currently weaker than the one that started last season. Why can't some people see the bigger picture rather than focusing their ire on Barton?
  2. I'm gonna go with that he has submitted a transfer request and the club have accepted, so he will be off in the next week or two. Not like it was unexpected, given that he was never going to get a new deal anyway. Ashley and Llambias must be laughing their tits off, especially given the amount of fans that have turned on Barton. For the record, I was one of those who wanted him sacked when he got sent to jail, but the lad turned it around and put in a very good campaign last season. NUFC will be a lot poorer without him, IMO. And in the meantime, the owner continues to laugh all of the way to the bank. Oh and if he goes, we are again down another body. And in the meantime, Pardew is hoping to bring in 'one' new face. Fucking wonderful because we will now have a weaker squad in terms of numbers than the one that started last season. We are fucked as things stand - it's as simple as that.
  3. I can't wait to see how much this undersoil heating/drainage cost. I'm sure it'll run into millions. I suspect we'll now see money start disappearing out of the club to repay the 'loans' which Ashley lent the club.
  4. Undoubtedly the likes of Barton and Enrique are hacked off, but the real problem is the man running the show and also his right hand man. If the club had some ambition and focus, this would not be happening. Ashley's plan seems to be raking as much cash into the club as he can and to what end? We can only speculate, but it'll be very interesting to see the accounts when they are due out next year.
  5. Wallace/Otter - which makes you think Ashley would have learned from his mistakes by now. Clearly not, it would seem. For me, a loss to the mackems (which I think will happen) and the heat will be on Pardew straight away. The man is clearly a more media-savvy version of Joe Kinnear for the regime and surely if we realize he is nothing more than a patsy, then the folk involved in football will realize it too. Certainly won't be doing his reputation in the game any good at all.
  6. Except Ashley hasn't "raked in" anything, he's been subsidising out losses out of his own pocket. Losses due to his own stupidity which he now seems intent on making the club pay for. Christ help us if we go down again because fans will desert the club en masse. I know that has been said before, but many have already rapped in and I suspect plenty others are on the brink. It's support that the club may never claim back in the future, even under a new regime.
  7. Whether you agree or not with what Barton has said tonight, it kind of cements what we already knew in terms of how the club is being operated and that there are problems behind the scenes (in the dressing room) I'm now very worried about next season and believe that at present, we are already facing another relegation battle. If Routledge signs for Swansea that means Ashley will have raked in nigh on £50million in transfer fees (incomings and outgoings) during his tenure and that is simply mind-boggling for a PL club to be ran in such a way. Perhaps this cash surplus is being kept to one side in case we go down? Been chatting to an old mate of my dad's, tonight and this coming season will be the first he has missed in nearly 40 years. He refuses to set foot again in St James until Ashley and Llambias are gone. He won't be alone in doing that I'm sure.
  8. That aimed at me, Chris? Post directly above my last one.
  9. Knives coming out for Nolan now then eh? Unbelievable.
  10. Seriously. Who the fuck on here doesn't think Llambias is a slimy, deceitful, dishonest cunt who persistently shits on both employees of the club and its loyal fanbase? What is the point of this post? My point is to the apologists on here who blindly back the regime no matter what shitty business the club does. How many of them are there? Name some names. Are you denying that there are such folk on here? I've never seen anybody who blindly backs the regime. I honestly don't know where this has came from. Admittedly I avoid these mindless cyclical discussions so maybe I have missed Ashley's army of followers. Like I said, some names would be nice. I'm not saying that there is an 'army' as such, but I can't name names off the top of my head. It's just something that I remember from debates on here in the past. If anyone else can do so, feel free and hopefully prove that I'm not off my rocker on this one. I have had arguements on another board with some folk who are quite blase about the regime and the way it treats people. For myself I might be cynical in my old age but I will say things as I see it and not merely go 'oh well' whilst preparing to bend over for another buggering.

  13. I wonder who the Ashley apologists will side with on these latest quotes? Another key player who left and had a pop at the club's board. Surely it can't be a coincidence? Makes you wonder what else has got to happen for these folk to wake up and smell the coffee. Not surprised in the slightest that Llambias backed out on a gentleman's agreement because he's a slimey fecker with no class. Doubtlessly he will now come out in the media over the next couple of days and attack Nolan - or perhaps it'll be left the the 'senior club source' again.
  14. I don't have ESPN. Nevermind - cheers anyway.
  15. Preseason friendly. Should be fun. Televised anywhere? Would be nice to see Messi take them apart again.
  16. Defoe is simply too old and is he actually that good? I'm not so sure..... I'd take Bassong back, but no to Beye.
  17. I'm a bit unsure as to whether to stay up for the commentary or not. I stayed up late on Sat night/Sunday morning and after watching the first half, I wish I hadn't bothered!
  18. 3 months is a joke and sends out the wrong message.
  19. More BS for Pardew. Funny how this comes out just after Jose's tweeting last night.
  20. Put the tin hat on mate, a load of bullets are coming your way.
  21. The latest from Mark Douglas doesn't sound at all good! Will it be in tomorrow's Journal or is it too late? Perhaps as well they have to be careful what to print so as not to get on the wrong side of Llambias?
  22. If that's true then it won't be a new thing - this will have been simmering for some time, probably since Ashley binned Hughton and sold Carroll. Club are treading in dangerous waters, IMO. We've seen what can happen before when the players aren't happy. It would appear the owner has not learned his lesson.
