cheers. i was relying on yourself,billytray,cp40 or gimp. No bother. I remember being at Kenny Wharton's testimonial (was either his or John Anderson's) and someone shouted 'How, Saunders - have you nicked any gloves lately?!' Made me laugh anyway.
-
Yup - now Modric has handed the request in, he will now for-go any loyalty bonuses. He must be quite desperate to leave.
-
Arsenal on the Sat night? Hope we are at the cottage in Glencoe by then - I'll be sticking the digital radio/laptop on! Looks like I'll miss the mackems game too (day we are due back) If it's on Sky, I'll have to record it.
-
As Madras said - it's not the first time we have been used as a stalking horse when it comes to another transfer. And also - do you believe those deadline day moves of Richardson and Charlie were genuine and if not, what was their purpose?
-
How? Up there with the 'moves' for Kieran Richardson and N'Zogbia. Ashley/Llambias will have fed a line to the media to try and curry favour with fans.
-
Great piece from TF there as always. Ashley has had to put cash into the club, but that's down to his own stupidity with firstly not doing due diligence when he bought it and also making awful decisions which culminated in our relegation. Something about the financial side of the club doesn't seem right and I don't think it'll come out until the next set of accounts are due out, which won't be for some time yet. The club is skating on ice and has been for a long time for the way it treats supporters. Many of my black and white amigos that I have spoken to view the regime with a great sense of mistrust. As ever though, the only way to stop this is to stop putting money in and this unfortunately is where the man knows he has many over a barrell.
-
Have said it before - I would take Bendtner. More likely to be moving abroad though as has been said previously.
-
*Relieved* Day after I'm due back from holiday, so I'll be able to watch.
-
Hope we do loan him out this year rather than just flogging him. Not sure Peterborough would be my first choice though. Very attacking team last season. They also just lost last season's 35 goal striker, Mackail-Smith. Aye - gone to Brighton which I find a bit of a strange move for the lad, given Leicester and West Ham were supposed to be sniffing about.
-
Which i dont get because London is an utter shitehole, even the posh parts are shite. Yup - I'd imagine it's all about their WAGS and keeping them happy.
-
Spurs have the whole 'London' thing which is probably a factor in being able to attract players on reasonable wages.
-
All an attempt at smoke and mirrors from Llambias again. You wish sometimes that the regime would just tell the truth (as well as speaking to us more) instead of treating us with outright contempt.
-
Just gave NO another mention on Total Sport.
-
Some seem to forget that now we are back in the PL, there is plenty of money coming into this club via other means, as .com have mentioned. It's not like we are a Wigan or a Blackburn who are living on the bones of their arse, but of course this is what the club would have you believe. I'm not advocating going out and splurging cash on a Man Citeh scale, but surely there is room for two more quality and proven players brought in for fees if necessary?
-
Am sure there are those who will be convinced. Jury is still very much out for me.
-
This it the key bit for me, which nufc.com have posted; "Our own personal take on that is that there should be plenty of season ticket money, TV revenue, sponsorship income etc. to meet those running costs and we refer back to Pardew's words on the day after Carroll's departure, which seemed crystal clear to us: "The one thing I said to Mike yesterday was: 'Look, if this boy is going to go, this money has to be reinvested in the team, all of it, and he has assured me of that. For the Newcastle fan, that is the most important message I can give today, that all that money will be used.'" Tells you all you need to know.
-
Just been reading back - thanks to those who provided the running commentary on here.
-
Hopefully it will be by tomorrow morning when I finish work.
-
Pardew is main guest for the return of Total Sport, after it's summer break tonight. I would love to listen in, but will be at work so will have to make do with listening again tomorrow morning. Will be interesting to see of Total Sport cherry pick their callers and questions so as not to give Pardew a hard time. I'm sure the manager will have been briefed with regards to what he can and cannot say by Llambias. It it going to be a case of more lies and half-truths or plenty of waffle without really saying anything? Does really seem to be a divide at present amongst fans with regards to how the recruitment policy is going at the moment. Myself, I'm in the 'concerned' camp though I appreciate only time will tell come August 31st. If anyone is going to be listening in, can they provide bullet points as to what he says please. Ta.
-
I'll try and make this one, as long as it's reasonably priced.
-
£10million for Long? Madness.
-
Enough of the Carroll cash should be available to bring back N'Zogbia and bring in another quality front man. Or is that too much to ask for? Aye, the window has been OK thus far but in real terms - nothing has been spent yet.
