  1. Got the feeling that all these good opportunities that we are missing, will come back to haunt us.
  2. Have Setanta changed their mind about showing our game in full at 730pm? I was gonna switch the mobile off and watch 'live', then. Feckin typical.
  3. So much rubbish coming out of JK's mouth at the moment - we are linked with this player, that player - then he reckons that it's Wise who's doing the 'wheeling and dealing'. The only time we can believe anything, is when a player signs on, on the dotted line.
  4. Dennis Wise still the puppet-master then eh? Very worrying indeed.
  5. Can't believe some folk are attacking Given here. The lad owes us nothing and has put up with being let down by those who run the club for long enough (as we all have) Also with regards to his lawyer - he'll have done nothing without Given's permission to do so. I have to agree with NE5, that the ambition of the club at the moment is back to the bad old days of the 70's and 80's. Survival is the long-term priority, rather than pushing on and progressing. Ashley wants his hands on the TV money - it's as simple as that. And if that does turn out to be the truth - how many of you's are prepared to put up with that and still put your hands in your pockets?
  6. A sad day really, but who can blame Shay over this? The lad probably feels at his age, he should be part of something a lot better (ie challenging for honours) rather than being involved in a relegation dog fight. The only good thing is that we have good strength in depth for keepers. It also probably shows that any new players coming in will be financed by outgoing sales. There's no-way in a million years that Ashley will put his hand in his own pocket. The bad old days of the 80's are back, boys - better get used to it. Also it's shown JK as a bit of a mug, with the words from Given's lawyer basically destroying what JK said the other day. He's a puppet manager - another Willie McFaul.
  7. I'm tempted to watch this delayed on Setanta at 730pm. Will have to turn off the mobile until after then though to avoid hearing the score. It's a game where there's really no pressure on us. All I can say is that there is an omen for the last time we played Hull in the FA Cup. I remember us losing 4-1 at home to Wolves (Steve Bull scored all 4) - game after, we went to Hull and won 1-0 in the Cup. Clutching at straws though! Steve Bull was brilliant that day, btw - him and Andy Mutch tore us apart.
  8. Unacceptable for me. The majority of that team (bar Given, Duff and Guthrie) were waving the white flag from kick off. Bending over and allowing yourself to be nailed from behind just isn't on.
  9. Garbage. Liverpool were quality, but it was men against boys to be honest. Only Given, Guthrie and maybe's Duff showed anything for us today. The rest - disgraceful. If we play like that for the remainder of the season, we are f**ked.
  10. Well - that was an awful first half from us and really how Liverpool aren't out of sight is beyond me. We can't hold the ball up, upfront (need Carroll on) - midfield is being over ran and the defence is just a feckin joke. Coloccini and Taylor just rotten. If Liverpool don't win this, they want shooting because we are garbage. Edgar's goal gives us a bit of hope, but I'm not sure the majority of the players (bar Given) have the stomach for the fight.
  11. Good to see Enrique in - only hope he's fit enough and doesn't have to go off after 20mins..... Owen up top on his todd, with Duff in behind I reckon. Surprised to see the scousers dropping Keane - Benitez being cagey? Can't see the need as we are that knackered with injuries.
  12. I feel a bit indifferent to the news. I believe he's taken the club off the market because there's no interest at the moment, due to the current financial climate. I hope his motives are to get the club to progress (and invest in new players) rather than keeping the club simmering and in limbo, until he can sell. Since he took over, we are in the black with regards to transfers. The squad needs considerable investment. Guess we'll have a better idea of what's gonna happen at the end of the transfer window.
  13. Any word yet? .com reckon he's got at least a bruised knee, but teletext reckon it may be a fracture. :-/
  14. We've got nothing to lose, now the predictable injury curse has struck again. If Bassong is suspended (and I think he is), I'd sooner see Duff at LB, rather than Charlie. The latter is like a fish out of water there, and I'd rather him be at AML where he's a threat. Just hope we have a go and that we don't roll over as we did under Allardyce when the scousers came a-callin.
  15. Owen being taken off was probably a tactical move, IMO. I reckon (and hope) he'll be OK for Sunday. Not that I think he'll offer much, if I'm honest.
  16. If we had a creative MC, then Butt would just be a bit-part player being used as and when. It's why a quality playmaker is a MUST during the window.
  17. Full Time Well, that's put a downer on my christmas. So typical of us.
  18. Shocking. Don't deserve anything at all from the game and yet we could have had a point. Duff and £70k a week? A feckin joke.
