Just back in. Championship football beckons, lads for this sorry and pitiful excuse of a football club. Not being good enough is one thing, but a lack of effort and fight is something else altogether. It's wrong and the players have to be held accountable as much as JK/Wise and Ashley. Thought Carroll and Bassong put in good shifts - but that's about it. We are knackered and need something of a miracle because we are in freefall. Thought the support from the 6000 who were there was excellent. Just a pity that the players can't be bothered and no wonder we were quick to turn on them. Support is a two-way thing, but us fans have been pissing in the wind too long where this club is concerned. Our support is taken for granted by the club and the majority of the players. They should hang their head in shame after today.

Hate to say it again, but the club is rotten to the core and this has been coming for years. Christ knows where we go from here. Relegation is a real possibility.

I only listened to it on the radio but they made out that we were the better team for the majority of it and if it wasn't for poor finishing from Owen we would have won the game comfortably. Was that not the case then? The performance was all fur coat and no knickers. So we didn't create many chances then? No to be honest. I can't remember Dukes having one save to make.

Just back in from the game. Worst Newcastle team I've seen in nearly 20 years. Something is very seriously wrong at the club and it's there for all to see, in the body language and demeanor of the players on the park. Just no will to win the game tonight, against what was more-a-less Hull reserves. If the players and management aren't arsed about the FA Cup, then fine - but it's a slap in the face for the 30000 that went tonight. If tonight is to become regular fare - then we are knackered. Questions need to be asked of Ashley and Wise and they may well be. There will be no response however. The club is being ran/wound down.

It's the modern football fan for you (the booing of Geremi) I'd say that plenty fans will have become fed up of how the club is ran and the performance of some of the players - and so it's the latter who bear the brunt. It's been brewing for a long time. As for the boos for Charlie - no problem with it, when he clearly doesn't give a flying one about the fans or the club.

Hopefully we should have enough to compete today. Glad Guthrie is fit. -
Total legend. You can hear in the way he speaks about the club that it's truely meant. Was great to hear him talking about his holiday in Newbiggen and meeting Jackie Milburn.

Think I might have been on the other bus, Otter. We ended up staying in a town called Alessandria, which I think was closer to Milan, than Torino!

bobyule - KK was never given the time, this time round or the say in developing the team how he wanted it. Dennis Wise runs the club (to all intents and purposes) - that's an arguement for another time though. Keith - I travelled over to Juventus with you, back in 01/02 and had a quality time, despite the bother with the hotel (it being further from Torino than you had been told) Have had no problem with the banner - if anything it shows how desperate some are with regards to how the club is being ran. As a fan of a few short of 30 years now, I've lived through the McKeag years, and this is as worrying a time now than it was back then. It seems that some Mags would rather be content to let Ashley get on with it, rather than speaking out - instead choosing to attack those who make an effort to take a stand. It's those very fans that are the reason why whatever owners of the club, have been able to take the piss for so long. They will suck on anything they are given, and if that's the case - why do things have to change? I hope you manage to sort out the problems which arose at the Hull game, and that you are back watching the lads again, soon.
