Has to be the 2-0 playoff defeat at home to Sunderland in 1990. Devastated and as low as I've ever felt as a Newcastle supporter. Mind, the loss to Partizan Belgrade on pens, in the CL qualifier doesn't come far behind.

The old system was fine as it was, for me. The inception of the CL has been about making money and preserving the status quo of the top clubs. I do enjoy watching the CL, but the old EC, CWC and the UEFA ruled.

At least we can now be thankful that these two (Hall and Shepherd) now have nothing to do with the club. Sure it's not good news, but if there is mileage in the police going after them, then hopefully that will happen. However they'll both be protected by very powerful lawyers and it'll be interesting to see if either take action against the NoTW.

Anderson did have a go at Ameobi tonight, saying that he 'hadn't done enough/missed his chance' when he went off. No disgrace to lose at Highbury - I just thought we'd have made a much better go of it. Still much work to do for Fat Sam.
