How does it does it compare to the past mate? Genuinely interested to know, I've only been supporting since KK era number one, and it doesn't seem to have changed much since then. I guess one difference was that we used to pay the silly money to make players choose us, and now we're on the other side of the fence. A good deal of the pain these days I'd put down to the sheer overload of press nonsense, claim, counterclaim, and every single minutiae being discussed. Can't help myself now, but don't think I was any worse off getting the general gist from the chronicle and the odd radio show. Ignorance is bliss they say.

Completely different situation with Nolan. Nolan was captain, could have stayed. Barton is almost forced out by this fucking boardroom. He has not been forced out. He is contracted to play for us until summer 2012 and despite his fuckups has a manager willing to give him yet another chance, and is giving him games. It is up to him and him alone whether he leaves now and ends up on a bigger wedge at QPR.

Everytime Bono clicks his fingers Eto'o makes enough money to feed an African family for a day.

Because as it stands he isn't getting a new contract so he will have to do that anyway after 5 years, his two choices are move now on a 5 year contract with someone else, or stay and hope for a new contract here, with Ashley in charge that isn't happening, he doesn't really have a choice tbf. Or stay for that year on his current generous contract (something he is contracted to do), then get that 5 year contract with someone else. That's my point though, he can only get a contract with someone else next season if he doesn't have a career-ending injury before then. Why should he wait? He has the chance to secure his future now. Fine, you've justified his reason for breaking his contract and buggering off. Don't expect me to be happy with him for that though. He hasn't broke it though really has he, the club want him out, if they didn't he wouldn't be allowed to speak to Q.P.R, he is partly to blame with his twitter and behaviour but ultimately it the clubs call. He said before he was listed that he'd refuse to be sold, and that he'd only go on a free or see out his contract. What the club was foolish for bearing that in mind was ultimately to give him exactly what he wanted (though if he continued down the path he was taking on twitter I'm not sure they had much choice). After all the bluster about top clubs, moving to QPR is hilarious, but hardly surpising.

Permission to speak/forced out? He said all along he would only leave on a free but would be happy to see out his contract. Well we have been generous by removing any obstacles from allowing him to move and seeing as he's played the first two games, than that is more than enough from our side to say that he's not going to be left to rot, so I don't buy this being pushed out bullshit. Good luck Joey. Hope you change your mind and stick around... but start talking shit about the club after you leave and I hope Warnock snaps your fucking jaw.

Oh, that's a great thought. Bound to take a swing at Taarabt at some point too.

Fucks sake, that audio to totally NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

Fuck the Journal and the Chronic giving conflicting stories daily, now Douglas is at it all on his own. What a plum.

Meh. Like he even needed permission.

Unimaginably badly if the Gods be kind. Hope does well. Same with Chelsea. Man Utd, Spurs and Liverpool - not so much. Hope Chelsea do well? Blimey, fair play to you. Not much of a fan of them myself.
-
Of course we won't, we don't have the time, or the resources to do so. That sounds very close to an offer to piss in a cup and sup? Care to add that surety to back up your certainty? Double dog dare ya.

Money well spent. Hopefully. Yes.

Yes it should give us an advantage with other clubs that we are willing to pay a fee in full (though obviously we'll try and use this to drive down the fee). The benefit for ourselves is less clear to me but I vaguely remember someone explaining that Ashley preferred a simplified method that put the players initial costs onto one years accounting, especially after coming into a club where he found we were still paying for players brought in under Shepherd which to him seemed a fairly dangerous practice considering the inherent instability of a football clubs finances based on league position.
-
Except it wouldn't be, it would be £30m (the fee we get this year) plus the year of wages (2 to 2.5m) so £32.5m. Strangely for an article looking at it from Ashleys point of view, while it includes Carroll, it doesn't include HBA (which is £5.75m plus the £1-2m loan fee, plus agent fee, plus 1 year of wages) totaling at a guess £11m, leaving our commitment for the year at over £40m if we bring in those players.

L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'

It is quite the pisser like. -
How hard is it so understand that he writes what he gets told? The situation changes from day to day apparently, but no reason for shooting the messenger like. Everyone should know how it works by now, and stop whinging about "he knows nowt". Why on earth you think he is being fed lines is beyond me. Do you think it's in the clubs interest the bullshit he come out with? Here, Mark, tell them we're close to getting Cissoko, then when we don't, we'll all look like goddamn heroes!

A disgrace! How very fucking dare we sound out a player. -
Cheers for that, good little insights.
-
What else can he do? Sign the cheque to get the deal done? Puts more pressure on the board Del boy will not like that! Good. There are a couple of things he can do to relieve that pressure if he finds it upsetting.
-
Love that people at the club are now calling him Hufty.

There better be. There's absolutely no excuse for being in-profit and having Ameobi as 2nd choice 'proper striker' come September 1st. We've made like £39m profit since January from transfers. You wouldn't f***ing know it. From transfers possibly, but we've no idea what actual profit has been made overall. By the look of our possible bids I would say we are looking at around £15m profit that we can put into the pot for the remaining transfers. That's great if you like buying penny shares and think it's a wheeze if you hit the jackpot. There's also an alternative method of investing in decent potential and backing it to produce a return. Ashley has apparently lost interest in investing. Make money and we have a chance it'll go towards players. Thank fuck for the Carroll windfall, otherwise we'd not be a million miles from Evertons ability to invest in players imho.
