  1. This stuff about costing us money is going a bit far, there was nothing like that in the last accounts. Yes there was. Edit: looks like I was thinking of the ones before that. Of course it's costing us money! Company's aren't putting the signs up and doing up the dugouts with Sports Direct seats and such, free of charge are they It's costing someone money certainly. There was nowt about it in the latest accounts though, and you'd hope there'd be some wedge from SD to us in the next lot. I'd be pretty amazed if things that have been done in the last month appeared in last year's accounts like Alright, the lot after then. Jeeez. Mabe there will be something in the next lot though fingers crossed. The ramping up of shit plastered around the place hasn't just been in the last month.
  2. I find renaming stadiums pretty diabolical whoever the company. For new stadiums it's just about bearable, but ones with any kind of history to them shouldn't be touched imho. Sadly I guess at some point there will be a critical mass of the bloody things, and whoever is left will have to change or be left seriously out of pocket though. Again like I said the EPL has had a good run but the whole world is moving that way. http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/WWgeronimo.jpg I HEAR YA

  5. Just It's all over the ground. Certainly is, and it's shit, but all I'm saying is that it's not the SDS, and that's quite an important part of it. Advertising is advertising, but actually having some bloke on 5 Live saying 'now we're of to Newcastles Sports Direct Stadium for the second half' would be fucking galling.

  7. Etihad, Britannia, Reebok, Emirates, DW, Liberty and ours now. Woah, not us really to be fair, we are not the Sports Direct stadium, and seriously doubt we ever will be. There is just branding i.e [company name] at St James's Park.
  8. 7 if you include us then Arsenal, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City, Wigan Athletic, Swansea City.
  9. Really? How many are there in the Premier League? 2 or 3? Anyway, you can't rename a long standing existing stadium which already has a name, it's ridiculous because nobody would call it by its new name. 7.
  10. Great stuff. Dare I say that there is every possibility of that going straight into my top ten awards speeches of all time. Loved the blissfully captivated look of the audience at 8m 24s.
  11. I wouldn't be too confident. With him not playing or scoring goals we'll probably try to negotiate a reduced price, which will end with them telling us to fuck off again. Probably on the last day of the window. They'd have to be a bit mental telling us to fuck off if he's not playing or scoring goals tbf.
  12. Yeah, just seen that. /Oh, and Gosling looking for a tutor? Sounds like he's off to Spain in January!
  13. Thats the sort of thing I was hoping to hear......Lets just hope Pardew was there and takes note. Cheers chaps. He wasn't.

Where's that quote from? Maybe clutching at straws here, but if it was a report based on the nutv interview it seemed to me that the brilliant bit was more directed towards the centre backs - 'our resilience, our full backs.....our center backs were brilliant today'. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14897089.stm Fair do's. Collectively they achieved a clean sheet, but Raylor was having a mare. I'm a little worried Pardew hasn't mentioned Santon in any of the post match interviews I've seen.

It was shite like, and if Pardew had done a Brucey and papered over it I'd be pretty worried, but he hasn't. We know tactically where we went wrong and he accepts that he held onto the formation for to long, but there we also the unavoidable factors that some players were simply not clicking on the night and some of the passing was well... beyond shite. Hopefully we'll get to see Santon on the left today and Pardew follows through on his insistence that they'll be focusing higher up the pitch against Villa. Looking forward to it oddly. /oh apropos of nowt, noticed there was a quote earlier in the thread from Pardew where he said the full backs were terrific which was criticised. That's fair enough, but in the interview I think that came from, the terrific bit was really aimed at the centre backs imho (was part of a bit of a rambling sentence).

It's not pretty though, is it? That was one of his major selling points upon arrival, that he would bring us a "better brand" of football. This season has been pretty shocking so far in that respect. Not complaining about the points haul, mind. Where's that "better brand" quote from? Definately hoping for an improvement but not too worried yet. The players we have brought in should get us there but may take a while to gel, and it's not helped when we lack the kind of striker that can give us the confidence to be more adventurous.
  18. Right, perfect time to shut down the thread. 666 pages on the village of the damned.
  19. Oh, aye. Lot of branding was there? /no, no there wasn't.

Eh? Ryder's mental if he thinks there are any goals to be found on the free agent list.
  21. Exactly, said before the game, there is no way anyone should get pissed if he doesn't play when we have no idea where the level of his preparation is for the game.
