Hopefully. I really don't get the appearance fee bit though for a player though. Surely it just serves to increase the chances of bad blood if we don't play him as much as he expects. Considering the likelyhood of signing on fee's and rumoured substantial agents fees, I wouldn't say we got him for nothing.

Abit early like. It's a sentiment I'm happy to echo.

Ba-rilliant!

Absolutely ridiculous. Have no problem with it unless Taylor, Furguson, Barton and Best suddenly break into the squad. Ireland

Bollox. Sent them a fax first thing this morning.

IT'S BECAUSE LEE RYDER IS ON HOLIDAY. OK. THANKS!

What's with the Chronicle today? One non story on Nile to Millwall but they have no intention of actually paying for him, and a piece on our game v Rantwerp. I'm sure they must be holding back on an enormous and explosive transfer story today. Suuuuurely.

if you think he'll do well why would you want him to go?

What's in it for them though?

As Wullie said recently we have a fairly big squad, it just lacks quality. Shame we seem to be shipping the better parts of it Really? The only ones we are actively getting shot of seem distinctly average to me, and that incudes Best if this paper talk isn't just fallout from a Steven Wraith tweet. Did well in his purple patch, but I really don't rate him as much of a player tbh. Him and Nolan are starters, we should be building on top of them and shipping the dross beneath them, ala Shola Sorry, you can't include Nolan, we offered the guy a contract. Let me repeat... Cambell, Kuqi, Best, Ranger and Smith are the only ones the press have suggeted we want shot of or have left. I wouldn't cry over any of them. He had two years left on his contract And? Despite still having those 2 years left, we offered to extend it, just not to the 5 years he was asking for. We weren't looking to get shot of him.

I can't imagine anyone falling out with Best or Ranger. Would be like getting angry over the misadventures of two adorable yet particularly stupid puppies.

I'm loving it too in a way, and really not that fussed that the ones we seemingly actually deem surplus are Cambell, Kuqi, Best, Ranger (though possibly more of another kick up the arse in his case), and Smith, so far. Going to be a mad month, and not worried in the slightest...... ....Yet!

In the Star as well. With Newcastle fans still reeling over Kevin Nolan’s shock departure to Demba Ba’s former club West Ham, Toon top brass have put Leon Best up for sale with a £4m price tag. The Republic of Ireland international scored six goals in 11 games for Newcastle before injury cut his season short. And if Best goes it will mean, following Andy Carroll’s £35m move to Liverpool in January and Nolan’s sale, three players who contributed 29 of the 56 league goals scored last term will have left. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/196355/Demba-Ba-flies-in-to-plug-the-gap/? Again, not terribly bothered. Not an awful player, but just depend on who we end up with come the start of the season.
-
Depending who we get in I imagine he wouldn't be getting much first team football with us next year anyway. Alway seems a shame to see a decent young player leave, but lob in some sell on clauses and I'd not be too disappointed tbh.

That is astonishingly bad. Well played.
-
Bah, that sounds horribly plausible.
-
If he's our new number 9, singular signing, numero uno up front? Yeah, go on then, I could be tempted into having a little winge.
-
Golfmag has been proven right in the past, I tend to believe him. Have no problem with him at all, certainly hob nobs with people in the know and happily appreciate his nuggets when he drops 'em. But knowing the terms of someones contract? Forgive me for finding that a little tougher to swallow.

The fact that he's ended up at the hammers says a fair bit mind, but he should never get any grief when/if he comes back as a player. Terrible first six months, but pretty much Mr Newcastle ever since. Top fella.
